Midfielder Paul Cairney was due to end his loan spell with Queen's Park on January 19th but today Paul and Partick Thistle agreed to extend that loan with the Second Division side until the end of this season.
Paul was signed during the summer very much with the future in mind and he has continued to develop as a player at Hampden under the watchful eye of former Thistle Assistant Manager Gardner Speirs. It is felt that it is beneficial to all parties that Paul remains with The Spiders until the season's conclusion.
Paul has been in excellent form for Queen's recent scoring five goals from his midfield berth in his last seven games. On Tuesday night Queen's face Peterhead at Hampden Park in a Scottish Cup replay with the reward for the winner a trip to Parkhead to face Celtic in the next round.
We wish Paul and Queen's Park every success for the remainder of the season.
