Thistle Make New Signing

We are pleased to be able to announce that a little earlier today Jackie McNamara was able to add to his squad with former Montrose defender Aaron Sinclair joining the Club on a two year contract for an undisclosed transfer fee.

Twenty year old Sinclair was recruited by Montrose from Albion Boys Club in Aberdeen and progressed through the under 17 and under 19 teams at Links Park before making his first team debut for Montrose on the final day of the 2008/2009 season in a fixture with Albion Rovers.

After having made the breakthrough into the Montrose first team, Aaron became a near permanent feature in the side for the next two seasons earning himself the reputation of one of the brightest young talents in the lower leagues in Scotland. In addition to spending time training with SPL St Johnstone, Aaron in September last year was awarded the IRN-BRU Phenomenal Young Player of the Month award.

Securing his services at Firhill for the next two seasons is seen, therefore, as an extremely shrewd piece of business.

That’s certainly a view held by Thistle manager Jackie McNamara who commented to ptfc.co.uk

“This is I feel a great signing for the Club and Aaron is exactly the kind of player that we should be bringing here. He has a lot of really positive attributes and has the potential to have a really bright future in the game.”

We wish Aaron well in his time at Firhill.
