It’s all change on the goalkeeping front today with one keeper heading out on loan while another joins us on loan.
Leaving Firhill for the remainder of the season is Ryan Scully who becomes the latest Partick Thistle player to take up temporary residency with Albion Rovers.
As Ryan leaves Firhill so Celtic’s Glenn Daniels joins Thistle on loan until the end of the current season.
The 19 year old Belgian born goalkeeper is part of the Celtic Development squad that have been participating in the NextGen series, alongside the youth teams of Sporting Lisbon, Aston Villa and PSV Eindhoven.
Daniels left school in Belgium to sign with Birmingham City before heading north to Scotland when he joined Celtic.
Said Thistle manager Jackie McNamara;
“I’ve been keen to allow Ryan Scully to leave on loan since the start of the season but it is as simple as saying ‘away go on loan’ you need to make sure that you have cover as well and Glenn Daniels will provide that.”
“We think that Ryan has the potential and ability to be an excellent goalkeeper but in the games that we’ve played recently he’s looked rusty. We feel that he will really benefit from a spell on loan and playing regular first team football.”
