The Thistle reserves were in action this evening against Morton at Cappielow and went down to a 3-1 defeat despite producing what Assistant Manager Scott Paterson described as a “good hardworking team performance”.
Thistle actually led at half-time through a goal from David Wilson but a stronger Morton side, which included the likes of David Graham and Peter Weatherson, eventually ran out 3-1 winners.
Said Scott Paterson when speaking to ptfc.co.uk;
“It was a good experience for a young side and it’s all a learning curve for them. They were under the cosh a bit in the second half and their heads were down in the dressing room at the end of the game but as long as they long as they can take something from the game then it is a worthwhile exercise. They’ve been doing well in recent games and while it is good to win games and develop a winning mentality at this level winning isn’t as important as continuing to develop as players. The first half performance was decent and while they had a lot of defending to do in the second half of this game they worked hard.”
