With a scan yesterday confirming that Scott Fox will be out injured for six weeks, Thistle moved quickly today to secure, subject to international clearance, the services of 29 year old Graeme Smith. Smith will remain at Firhill until at least January 6th.
This isn’t the same goalkeeper who sat on the bench for Thistle as a trialist on three occasions earlier in the season.
Smith started his career with Rangers and although he didn’t make a first team appearance at Ibrox he did have a spell on loan with Ross County.
After leaving Rangers Graeme spent four years with Motherwell and during his time at Fir Park he was capped at ‘B’ level for Scotland.
In 2009 he moved to Brighton before returning to Scotland for a spell with Hibernian.
Most recently Smith was playing his football in Azerbaijan with Gabala.
