Next season we will be required to field an under 20 side and although a number of players that will form that team are already at the Club some will need to be recruited from elsewhere.
Those players need not just be able to fill a slot in an under 20 side but also require to have the potential to develop into important members of the first team squad here at Firhill.
With that in mind we are delighted to confirm two signings today, both on two year contracts.
It’s a warm welcome, therefore, to Marc Waters and Declan McDaid.
Goalkeeper Marc (pictured below to the left of Scott Paterson) makes the step up from the Thistle under 17 side and will work closely with goalkeeping coach Paul Gallacher next season.
Declan McDaid, a winger and like Marc 17 years old, as previously on the books at Morton.
Indeed Declan made his first team debut for Morton as a substitute in a fixture with Airdrie United last April.
Additionally he has been capped four times for the Scotland Schools Under 18 side in the Centenary Shield competition and scored against England; even though Scotland would eventually lose the match 3-1.
We wish Declan and Marc well in what we hope will be a long and successful Partick Thistle careers.
