The 2015/16 campaign may still have 18 league games to go but manager Alan Archibald has been working hard to plan for Thistle’s future beyond the current campaign.
With that in mind, Partick Thistle Football Club is pleased to confirm that Chris Erskine has signed a pre-contract agreement to join Thistle for the third time on June 1st 2016, upon the expiry of his contract at Dundee United.
Chris needs no introduction to Thistle supporters, having made almost 200 appearances for the club over his two spells with Thistle previously.
Chris joined Partick Thistle in the summer of 2009 from Kilbirnie Ladeside and spent four seasons with the club before joining Dundee United in 2013.
The attacking entertainer has already scored 35 goals, some of which were certainly spectacular, during the 165 appearances he made during those four seasons.
Upon joining Dundee United, Chris found it difficult to establish himself in the first team and joined Thistle on loan in January 2014 to help the side stay in the Premiership, making 15 appearances for Thistle during his loan spell, while scoring two goals.
2014/15 was a happier one for Chris in the tangerine of United as he made 41 appearances, scoring eight goals as the Dundee club finished fifth in the league.
This season has been a disrupted one for Erskine with injury issues meaning he has spent significant time on the sidelines in the opening half of the season.
Chris will join Thistle on a three year deal, to expire in 2019.
