There are just 90 minutes of season 2011-2012 remaining with Thistle’s aim tomorrow a simple one, finish the season on as much of a high as possible.
Said manager Jackie McNamara when speaking to ptfc.co.uk;

“We’re keen to win this match and see where that would take us in the final league table. A victory would certainly take us above Hamilton and we could possibly finish as high as third which would be a bit of a bonus. A top four finish would mean that we would come into the Scottish Cup a round later than we did this season. We need, first and foremost, to concentrate on our own job, get the three points and then see where that leaves us in the league table.”
Not untypically as this late stage of the season, the manager has a few injury and suspension problems ahead of tomorrow’s game.
“Christie Elliott is definitely out. Aaron Sinclair has done a little bit of running but hasn’t joined in training yet and he is a major doubt for tomorrow’s game. As too are Kris Doolan and Chris Erskine. Chris did well in the first half against Falkirk last weekend but was the victim of a few hefty challenges in the second half. We’ll have a better idea as to who will be fit and who won’t after training today.”
As we all were, the manager was delighted to see the aforementioned Aaron Sinclair included in the PFA Scotland’s First Division Team of the Year.
“I was really pleased for Aaron that he was included in that team. Coming from part-time football he has had a very good first season with us. The really positive thing is that I feel that he is only going to get better and better in the years to come.”
