With just two days to go now until we finally get the new season started with an SWPL Cup group stage game against Forfar Farmington at Petershill Park, Partick Thistle Women’s FC has made another signing to add to our exciting squad for the upcoming campaign.
We are delighted to announce that striker, Suzanne Mulvey, has agreed to join the club for 2020, further strengthening the Jags’ frontline.
The former Sunderland attacker has enjoyed a long and successful career, predominantly in Scottish women’s football playing for top sides such as Glasgow City, Rangers and Celtic.
As well as performing at the top level of the women’s game in Scotland, she has also experienced Champions League football and international football with Scotland.
Furthermore, Suzanne has got experience of success in the SBSSWPL 2 having won the division as Motherwell captain in 2018. During that season she also won the league’s Top Scorer and Player of the Year awards having netted 26 times during that season.
On Mulvey’s arrival, assistant coach Beth Adamson said:
“Suzanne is a huge signing for us. Her achievements over her career speak for themselves and, in particular, her experience of winning our division will be massive. She’s a great goalscorer but also brings much more than that in terms of general play and also leadership so we think she’ll be a superb addition to our squad.”
