This year’s festive period is unlike any other that we have experienced with government restrictions limiting the traditional get-togethers of friends and family.
Fresh from helping Forrest Precision Engineering spread some festive cheer to the Robertson family on the day of our last home match against Peterhead, the Partick Thistle Charitable Trust are matchball sponsors for this Saturday’s game against Clyde – our first of 2021.
This latest sponsorship will see participants from the Trust’s “Accepting Activity” project, currently unable to get together physically due to covid restrictions, come together digitally to watch the game on Saturday afternoon. Stream Digital have generously donated 30 stream log-ins ensuring that everyone from the project is able to watch Saturday’s game, while PieSports and The Woodside Inn will once again provide half time refreshments.
Players from the project, who are based throughout Glasgow, are members of our homeless community or are asylum seekers/refugees looking for an opportunity to get involved in activities and build new relationships in their adopted city.
Thistle CEO Gerry Britton said: “We’re thrilled to be able to use our matchday sponsorships in this way, particularly during this time of year, to bring some joy and connection to families and people in our local communities. A special thanks go to our partners Stream Digital, PieSports and The Woodside Inn for going above and beyond by donating extra to ensure everyone connected with the Charitable Trust’s project can tune in and watch Saturday’s game. It’s another good illustration of the Football Club working closely with the Charitable Trust, again showing how Partick Thistle overall can support and give opportunities to local people in need, which is something we only hope to build further in 2021.
