Partick Thistle can today confirm that goalkeeper Jamie Sneddon has signed a new one-year deal with the Club.
Sneddon became a Jag in 2017 when he joined us from Cowdenbeath, the team where he began his senior career.
His first team debut as a Thistle player arrived in July 2018 when he came on as a half-time substitute for Aaron Lennox in a Betfred Cup game away at Stenhousemuir; the then 20-year-old maintained Thistle’s clean sheet in a 2-0 victory that day.
Jamie went on to make a total of 16 appearances during the 2018/19 season including a run of five consecutive games to end the campaign during which the team conceded just two goals.
Last season, Sneddon made 13 appearances and kept eight clean sheets as Thistle claimed the League One title including an incredible run of six shutouts in seven games to close his season.
On the deal, Thistle manager Ian McCall said:
“I’m really pleased that Jamie is now signed up with the Club for next season – I still see a lot of promise in him and I know Kenny Arthur feels the same. Like a couple of the younger boys we’ve signed, I think he’s someone who can really kick on and improve further over the coming season.
“Jamie was very unlucky with his injury last year which ended up keeping him out longer than expected for a couple of reasons but when he was in the team he played very well. I think we saw what he’s capable of against Airdrie in April when he made a really good save in the first half and then gave a complete goalkeeping performance in the second in the face of some real pressure.”
