It's an entertaining game of football on a cold day but a frustrating outcome for Thistle. 

They lead twice but have to settle for a point despite creating numerous chances throughout and winning a series of corners right at the death. 

Hamilton too will feel that this was a game they could have won with a Hamiton header smashing off the Thistle crossbar. 

Smith's shot takes a deflection and crawls wide of the post with Hilton beaten. 

Well into injury time. 

Smith whips over  great cross that no Thistle player can get a touch to. 

Mayo gets his head to Turner's corner and is drops right at Hilton. 

A Tiffoney shot is deflected wide. 

Sneddon's there too to claim the corner. 

Sneddon gets a fingertip to a Ryan free kick from distance. 

Thistle are on the back foot as the home side get the scent of a late winner and Akinola does well to head clear a dangerous cross from Smith. 

Murray does well to whip over a cross from the right but MacIver can't near enough to it and Hilton takes charge. 

It's a good corner from Mimnaugh that finds the head of Hamilton and his header comes back off the Thistle crossbar as the home side are a fraction away from taking the lead, 

Rudden threads a great ball through for Tiffoney but Hilton spreads himself and is able to block Tiffoney's effort. 

Minnaugh's corner is too deep but Thistle don't clear and when the ball comes back in Popescu is able to force the ball home. 

Thistle are back in front. A cross finds Graham at the back post. He heads the ball back towards goal and Rudden forces home from close range. 

Turner does well to work the ball wide to Tiffoney on the left. Although Tiffoney manages to get into the box and poke a shot towards goal there is no power behind it and Hilton makes an easy save. 

Hamilton has the ball in a good position for the home side on the right hand side but overhits his cross and an opportunity is lost for Accies. 

Tiffoney simply brushes aside Hamilton down the left hand side and cuts the ball back to graham who knocks his shot wide of target. 

Ryan goes for power rather than direction and although Sneddon gets a hand to his penalty he finds the roof of the net to level the scores. 

A rash challenge from Mayo on Smith gives Hamilton a penalty

With Accies looking for offside Thistle break quickly and Tiffoney advances into the box but his finish is poor and goes wide of goal. 

Hamilton work a short corner to Ryan whose route to goal is blocked by a well timed challenge from Crawford. 

We're back underway. No changes at the break. 

There was little between the teams in an opening 45 minutes where both sides had spells on top. 

Thistle though probably looked the more dangerous with Hilton saving well from Rudden and Turner before Tiffoney's free kick right on the stroke of half-time gave them the lead. 

Docherty shapes up to take the free kick but steps over the ball leaving it to Tiffoney to rifle a low shot into the net. 

Docherty is caught on the very edge of the Hamilton box. 

Tiffoney drills a low cross into the box from the left that Hilton is down sharp to intercept. 

Turner forces Hilton into a good stop at his left hand post. 

Ryan's free kick goes to the back post where it finds the head of Popescu whose header is thankfully straight at Sneddon who scrambles the ball away from his goal. 

Akinola catches the heels of Ryan and Hamilton have a free kick on the edge of the box on the left hand side. 

Hamilton picks up the ball about 25 yards from the Thistle goal and fizzes a shot narrowly over Sneddon's crossbar 

Turner lifts his corner to the edge of the 6 yard box where it is headed clear. 

Turner clips the free kick into the Hamilton box but it is well defended and that spell of Thistle pressure ends. 

Turner's corner is cleared but Thistle win a free kick near the corner of the Accies box. 

Nearly the opener for Thistle. Docherty's pass finds Rudden and Hilton saves his shot at his front post. 

Even very early on the game has become a bit tetchy and the referee has had words with Thistle skipper Ross Docherty. The game is certainly being punctuated with a series of fouls at present. 

It looks as if Graham has come off second best in an aerial challenge with Popescu but is quickly back to his feet and play restarts with a bounce ball. 

The home side have looked eager early on and Winter drags a shot wide of goal but had strayed offside in any case. 

It's Turner on the right of the Thistle midfield and Tiffoney on the left with Docherty and Crawford occupying the central midfield positions. Otherwise it's exactly as you would expect this line up to be shape up. 

And defend Thistle have to do very early on but Sneddon sees Virtanen's shot from the edge of the box and holds comfortably. 

Kyle Turner kicks the game off for Thistle who are defending the traditional away end at New Douglas Park in the first half. 

Thistle return to action this afternoon for the first time since December 18th albeit without the much missed Red and Yellow Army to lend their vocal support. 

Ian McCall's team selection this afternoon shows two changes from the side that defeated Raith Rovers three weeks ago. 

New signing Robbie Crawford, wearing number 22, slots straight into the starting eleven and there is also a start for Kyle Turner who scored that last gasp winner last time out.
