Partick Thistle Women’s FC can today announce the appointment of Stewart Hall in a new combined role of assistant manager and club secretary.
Stewart joins PTWFC ahead of the 2021/22 season as previous assistant manager Richard Foster moves on to a new role with the Thistle Weir Youth Academy and previous club secretary Beth Adamson steps back from her role with the team during her maternity leave. Ross Docherty will continue in his current coaching role working alongside Stewart and manager Brian Graham.
Hall joins the Jags’ coaching staff following a stint with SWPL 1 side Motherwell WFC where he served as assistant to Eddie Wolecki Black before taking over as interim manager for the second half of the 2020/21 campaign. Prior to that, he spent four years as the head coach at Kilmarnock WFC, during which time Killie were promoted to the SWPL 2.
After agreeing to join the club, Stewart said:
“I’m excited with the opportunity to join Partick Thistle Women’s FC in this unique role. I’ve worked with many of the players at the club before and I’m looking forward to working with them again. Hopefully I can help the club achieve its goals; there is already a strong squad in place and with the additions we plan to make, we will be well equipped for the 2021/22 season.
“There are major improvements being made behind the scenes as well which match, if not better, the infrastructure at most SWPL 1 clubs which is very exciting to see happen.”
Chairman of PTWFC Jacqui Low said:
“We are pleased to have secured Stewart at this important time for the women’s club. Brian Graham has already said his aspiration for next season is promotion and Stewart is well placed to support the team in achieving that.
“Our thanks go to Richard for all his hard work last season; he will be missed by everyone around the team. Also, Beth goes on maternity leave with our very best wishes – she’s been the lynchpin behind the scenes for PTWFC and will be a hard act to follow. But Stewart is a first-class replacement in this new role and we are very happy to welcome him to Firhill.”
