Partick Thistle is pleased to unveil the 2021/22 men’s first team training and warm-up tops now complete with Glasgow Taxis logo.
The two iconic Glasgow institutions first joined forces in late 2019 and worked closely through the pandemic to help others while football was shut down.
Since then, a league title has been won, a new Thistle taxi has become the most photographed in the fleet and now the Glasgow Taxis logo features on both tops in another element of the partnership.
Gerry Britton, Partick Thistle chief executive, said: “Glasgow Taxis are a perfect partner for the club and have shown time and again their willingness to go the extra mile for supporters and members of our local communities, not to mention taking Alex Rae up the road after the 1971 lunch!
“The attention the Thistle taxi generates is amazing, it’s fantastic to see it used for weddings and special occasions, all of which benefits the club’s reputation and reach. We’re very grateful for the support of Dougie and his team and hope it’s a partnership we can keep building and developing.”
Dougie McPherson, Glasgow Taxis chairman, said: “This is a fantastic partnership for Glasgow Taxis. We are proud to partner with the club and support initiatives which have fans and community first in mind, such as using our Thistle taxi as a matchday shuttle and helping deliver packs to communities on behalf of the charitable trust. The supporters have been fantastic in return – as have Jacqui, Gerry, Ian and the team – and we hope we can continue to be a driving force for Thistle in the season ahead.”
