Ian McCall has been named the Championship Glen’s Manager of the Month for November after accumulating a 100% win record during the month.
The gaffer orchestrated away victories against Kilmarnock and Ayr United before overseeing home successes against Hamilton Accies and Dunfermline Athletic. Even more impressively, the four wins were achieved without conceding a single goal as the defence broke club records which had stood for 100 years. The nine points achieved in the cinch Championship saw Thistle move into the promotion playoff slots, just two points off the summit while our victory against Dunfermline Athletic teed up a Scottish Cup fourth round clash with Airdrieonians.
Collecting his award, Ian McCall, Partick Thistle Manager, said:
“You only get these awards with wins and so to win every game we played through November was a very difficult thing to do. It’s all credit to the players who go out on to the pitch and work hard to earn the victories. This month we have seen different types of victories from digging out wins to being in control and a little more comfortable.
“November has given us a bit of momentum that makes December a very, very big month for us. We’ve got three games at Firhill which has been jumping lately so I hope a large and vocal home support will come out for those massive games and we can continue to give them something to cheer about.”
Colin Matthews, CEO of Glen’s owner the Loch Lomond Group, said:
“Partick Thistle have had an excellent month, with three wins in a row and fantastic victories over Kilmarnock, Ayr United and Hamilton Academical. Ian McCall is a worthy winner of Glen’s Championship Manager of the Month – my congratulations to him and his squad. I wish them all the best for the remainder of the season.”
