Partick Thistle can today confirm that defender Stephen Hendrie has signed a contract extension with the club which will keep him at Firhill until the end of the season.
Former Hamilton full-back Hendrie joined the club back in September on a deal until January but has now agreed an extension which will see him remain a Jag for the duration of the 2021/22 campaign.
The 26-year-old has made two appearance for the club so far this season, debuting in a 2-0 Challenge Cup defeat against Queen of the South before more recently putting in a terrific display during our 1-0 Scottish Cup triumph over Dunfermline.
Thistle boss Ian McCall said:
“I’m very pleased to get Stephen signed up until the end of the season. He’s been very unlucky in his time here so far because the defence has been in such good form that he’s not had much game time. He’s trained brilliantly though and I think he’s performed well in the games he has played.
“You always want competition in the squad and the fact that a player of Stephen’s quality hasn’t been able to get regular game time tells you that we have that just now. Stephen showed against Dunfermline that he’s good enough to be a starter for us, it’s now up to him to keep working hard and try to earn a regular spot in our defence.”
An interview with Hendrie will be available to watch on JagZone later today.
