It's a disappointing start to 2023 as a goal in each half is enough to see Queen's Park run out 2-0 winners.
A Milne header from Turner's corner drops wide of target.
Weston is robbed of the ball just as he was about to shoot.
With the away fans behind the goal starting to drift away, Muirhead skies a shot from distance high over the bar.
Mullen's past finds Weston but Ferrie is able to clear just ahead of Weston. The ball spins into the path of Lawless who sends it wide of goal.
It's a wild effort from Milne that goes high and wide of the Queen's Park goal.
It's all to do now for Thistle who haven't looked like scoring since the early stages of the second half. Jarrett times his run perfectly to collect Robson's pass and he confidently shoots past Sneddon.
Ferrie takes charge and claims Lawless' corner.
Davidson's header from Thomas' corner drops wide of goal.
Crowd: 1,665
Turner manages a shot at the edge of the box but there is no power in his effort and Ferrie saves with comfort
Thistle look for a foul and a penalty as Fitzpatrick tries to get on the end of a cross from the right. An appeal in hope rather than expectation.
Chance for Murray in front of the Thistle goal but he doesn't get enough on his header and Sneddon saves.
Turner isn't far away from finding the head of Holt with the corner but the ball is cleared,
Hodson has another go from a similar position. This time it is blocked by a defender with Graham then sending a shot wide of goal.
It's a really good spell of pressure from Thistle and Hodson sees his drive from the edge of the box thump off the post
There is too much height on Fitzpatrick's cross looking for Graham at the back post.
Early second half chance for the home side. A free kick is whipped in from the corner of the box but the ball is cleared just ahead of Kilday.
Thistle trail at the break to Murray's early goal.
After a very bright start from the home side Thistle did eventually take a grip of the game with Fitzpatrick denied by Ferrie and Graham twice coming close.
It was Queen's that finished the half the better and with three Thistle players booked in quick succession they were pressing for a second goal before the break.
Thistle clear the corner as tempers get frayed before the break.
Thistle have had the better of the last ten minutes but Queen's have a chance that Thomson sends over the bar.
Murray gets a free kick round the Thistle wall but also well wide of the Thistle goal.
Graham makes a front post run to connect with a McMillan cross from the right but with a defender in close attention he can do more the flick the ball wide.
Turner takes the free kick. It's a good delivery and Queen's struggle to clear the ball before Boateng steps in to clear.
After Turner's corner is cleared Thistle win a free kick on the opposite side after a foul on Lawless.
Thistle are starting to take a grip on the game and we are hearing the Thistle fans for the first time.
Milne looks to be barged to the ground at the edge of the Queen's box, but there is no free kick.
Lawless' corner is headed clear the referee spotting an infringement in any case.
Thistle are close to an equaliesr. Lawless and McMillan link up well and Graham is on the end of the latter's cross and Ferrie makes a good stop near his left hand post.
Savoury's shot is blocked before Thomas sends a shot over the Thistle crossbar.
Milne whips over a great cross from the left but Graham's header goes just over the bar.
The Thistle goal is under threat again but McPake drags his shot wide of target.
Thistle's first serious attack nearly produces an equaliser. Graham's flick finds Fitzpatrick and Ferrie does enough to prevent Fitzpatrick's shot finding the net the loose ball spinning away from any Thistle player.
Savoury and Robson link up well and Queen's bright start is rewarded as Murray is there inside the 6 yard box to tuck the ball home.
Sneddon is tested more with this effort from Kilday that he does well to push round the post for an unproductive corner.
The home side have started the game firmly on the front foot and Sneddon is required to make a save, albeit a comfortable one, from a shot from the edge of the Thistle box.
It's a good corner that Thistle do well to defend.
Queen's get the game underway. Thistle defending the end with the travelling support in the first half.
Thistle start the New Year with the traditional New Year Derby fixture, albeit at a less than traditional venue for such a fixture.
It's Queen's Park that provide the opposition at Ochilview Park, Stenhousemuir the venue for this vital Championship fixture.
Thistle enter the fixture in good form and Ian McCall's starting eleven shows just the one change from the side that started last time out against Inverness.
Stuart Bannigan misses out due to suspension and in comes a fit again Ross Docherty.
The only other change is on the bench where Ben Stanway, no on loan with Airdrie, is replaced by Lee Hodson.
Kick-off is still approximately 20 minutes away and the away end is already filling up nicely.
