It's an excellent afternoon's work for Thistle as they extend their unbeaten run to a 4th game. 

A Scott Tiffoney goal gave Thistle a half-time lead and a sparkling start to the second half saw goals from Brian and Scott Tiffoney again extend the lead. 

Three to the good, Thistle were content to contain Rovers for the remainder of the game with David Mitchell making sure of a clean sheet with an excellent save to deny Vaughan from the penalty spot.

Into injury time

The clean sheet is still on as Mitchell makes a great stop to keep out Vaughan's penalty and then another excellent save to deny Dick from the rebound. 

It's an excellent one handed save low to his left from Mitchell that denies Stanton a goal. 

An excellent Milne cross is cleared. 

Fitzpatrick sees his shot blocked at the edge of the box. 

Rovers think they have a chance to pull a goal back but the flag goes up for offside against Vaughan.

It's another well crafted and well taken Thistle goal. Lawless plays in Tiffoney and he slots the ball past MacDonald for his second of the afternoon. 

Connolly's corner slides off the head of Lang and drops well wide of Mitchell's right hand post. 

And that's another one that is disputed. 

Thistle's frustrations are growing at some of the decisions going, or not going, their way. 

Turner elects to go for goal at the free kick despite the tight angle and he forces MacDonald into a good stop. 

Docherty is fouled and Thistle have a free kick near the edge of the box on the left hand side. 

It's a well crafted goal that doubles the Thistle lead and gives Graham his 14th of the season. Tiffoney finds Milne with a clever pass and Milne's low cross is tucked home at the back post by the Thistle No. 9. 

The free kick is cleared but Thistle remain firmly on the attack.  

Thistle have a free kick over on the right handside touchline. 

Just for a second it looks as if the corner might fall to a Thistle player but MacDonald collects near his front post. 

Thistle are close to a second. Tiffoney's skill creates the chance for Graham at the edge of the box and MacDonald does well to turn his shot over the bar. 

It's not been a vintage Thistle performance by any means but they lead at the break courtesy of Scott Tiffoney's back post header eight minutes before the break. 

A teasing cross from Lawless is cleared as Thistle look to add a second goal before half-time. 

Thistle are in front through the unlikely source of the head of Scott Tiffoney. It's Turner that creates the opening when he creates space for himself to cross for Tiffoney at the back post and Tiff nods home from close range. 

Turner with a more traditional corner this time but still no joy for Thistle. 

Lawless takes the corner and works a short corner with Tiffoney that doesn't really come off and they are a little fortunate to win Thistle another corner. 

It takes Thistle a couple of attempts to deal with the danger the free kick provided. 

Rovers win a free kick wide on the right almost right on the touchline and line with the edge of the Thistle penalty box. 

McMillan's cross, after a lovely pass from Lawless, just fails to pick out Turner inside the box. 

The ball just won't fall right for a Thistle player as the home side press Rovers at the edge of their box. 

Tiffoney picks up the ball in the middle of the park and starts to move towards the Rovers goal with real intent but his touch lets him down. 

Turner's corner is headed clear from almost right under the Rovers crossbar by Lang. 

Lawless is fouled wide on the right as Thistle try and build up a head of steam. 

Much better from Thistle as Milne fizzes over a low cross from the left that Graham can't quite reach and convert at the back post. 

Tiffoney wins Thistle a free kick to ironic cheers from the home fans. 

The ball is in the Thistle net again. This time a header from Akio but again the flag was already up for an obvious offside as Rovers rather waste a free kick situation. 

Mitchell gets a hand to the corner and Thistle try to break. 

Loud shouts for a Thistle penalty as Tiffoney gets on the end of a long ball from Docherty and looks to be nudged to the ground inside the box. At first glance it looked a very good shout for a penalty. 

A long range effort from McBride goes wide of the Thistle goal. 

Connolly has the ball in the net for Rovers but the flag had already gone up for an obvious offside. Bit of a tentative opening from Thistle. 

A slip from Muirhead gives Rovers a chance to advance but McAvoy is there to clear. 

It's the away side that mount the game's first serious attack but McMillan is on hand at the back post to tuck a cross from the right away to safety. 

Raith Rovers get the match underway. Thistle shooting towards the John Lambie Stand in the first half. 

Kris Doolan, who dropped the 'interim' from his job title yesterday, makes his first managerial Firhill appearance this afternoon looking to build upon a prolonged, and productive, spell on the road. 

Following Tuesday's excellent 3-1 success at Dens Park his team selection shows just one change from that game. 

Injury has unfortunately denied him the services of Jamie Sneddon for the afternoon and David Mitchell has been drafted in in his place with young Mason McCready recalled from his loan spell with Dalbeattie Star to provide back-up on the bench.
