Midfielder James Lyon was a product of the Thistle Weir Youth Academy, making his debut for the first team in December 2020 against Forfar.
He would go on to sign a modern apprenticeship with the club in summer 2021 before spending a season on loan with Stenhousemuir where he played 22 times.
At the end of his apprenticeship in 2023, James signed the first professional deal of his career as he committed to a further two years in Maryhill.
Early in the 2023/24 campaign, Lyon bagged his first senior goal for Thistle as he fired in a spectacular volley against Falkirk at the Wyre Stadium at Firhill to earn his side a point in the Viaplay Cup group stages.
James embarked on the second loan move of his career in February 2024 as he joined East Fife on a temporary basis for the remainder of the 23/24 campaign.
Contract Expires: Summer 2025
