Cole McKinnon signed on loan at Partick Thistle on 13th July 2022, joining from Rangers.
The midfielder came through the youth ranks of the Ibrox club, making his first team debut for the Gers against Hearts in the final league game of the 2021/22 cinch Premiership debut.
Cole made his first appearance as a Jag a matter of hours after his loan move was announced, coming off the bench in a Premier Sports Cup group stage draw against Kilmarnock which Thistle went on to win on penalties.
He then made his first start in a midweek game against Fraserburgh in the same competition, winning the sponsors’ Man of the Match award as the Maryhill men ran out 2-0 victors.
The following week he was able to mark his first league appearance for the club with a goal, netting the third and ultimately deciding goal in a 3-2 triumph over Dundee at Dens Park.
