Partick Thistle are proud to announce that we’ve partnered with local craft brewery Glasgow Beer Works to produce a range of Partick Thistle alcoholic drinks.
The award-winning brewer is famed for producing their core range beers and a variety of collaborative brews to the delight of tastebuds from Glasgow and across the country.
Working in partnership with the Club, Glasgow Beer Works have produced three drinks which are sure to become household favourites with a Pilsner-style lager, an easy-drinking pale ale and a Thistle Gin made with actual Thistle root.
The 1971 Lager celebrates the crisp and refreshing football played by David McParland’s Thistle side with a crisp and classic refreshing Pilsner-style Lager.
The Scottish football away days are some of the most anticipated Saturday’s in the football calendar and the Away Day Pale Ale is an easy-drinking pale ale that can be enjoyed whatever the occasion.
We know that beer is not to every Thistle supporter’s taste, so we have worked in partnership with Glasgow Beer Works to distil a Thistle Gin made specifically for the Club. Made with actual Thistle root, the Thistle Gin has a peppery edge, balanced by citrus and floral flavours.
The 1971 Lager, Away Day Pale Ale and Thistle Gin will be immediately stocked in lounges across Firhill from the Alan Rough Lounge to the Aitken Suite and are available for home purchase via Glasgow Beer Works website at www.glasgowbeerworks.com.
The 1971 Lager and Away Day Pale Ale will retail at just £3 per can for online purchase. The Thistle Gin retails at only £32 per bottle with a portion of the proceeds returning to the Club.
Partick Thistle Chief Executive Gerry Britton said:
“The partnership with Glasgow Beer Works is another exciting and innovative partnership that has grabbed the attention of our commercial team. It is always fantastic to partner with an independently owned local company and the team at Glasgow Beer Works have worked hard to create three fantastic products that I am sure will become match day staples for Thistle fans throughout Firhill.
Allan Rimmer, co-owner at Glasgow Beer Works said:
“From the first initial discussions with the commercial team at Thistle, this was a partnership that excited the GBW team a lot. As a life long fan it was a privilege to work with the club on a range of different products to offer something a bit different for Thistle fans that we can’t wait for them to taste on match day, starting from this weekend’s match. Seeing Glasgow Beer Works products stocked throughout Firhill will be a moment of pride for everyone who is part of the team at our Brewery.”
