Partick Thistle Women’s FC were delighted to this week learn that Rachel Donaldson has been nominated for the SWPL1 Player of the Month award after a string of impressive performances in November.
The winger becomes our first ever player to be nominated for the award at SWPL1 level making this a very proud moment for everyone involved with PTWFC.
Rachel’s nomination was very well-earned with the number 12 scoring two goals and creating two more in three games last month.
Her November started in spectacular fashion as she scored a brilliant winning goal in a midweek clash with Motherwell at Petershill Park despite only arriving 15 minutes before kick off due to work commitments, showing her commitment to the cause before she carried that creative form into our trip to face Hamilton Accies.
At New Douglas Park, Donaldson scored again with another fabulous curling effort before going on to set up goals for Linzi Taylor and Abbie Ferguson in the second half en route to a 5-1 victory.
Her efforts have been massively appreciated within the club as ever but the league wide recognition she is now receiving represents a bit of history for PTWFC.
