This Sunday 8th January, PTWFC take on Queens Park at New Tinto Park for a 18:00 kick off.
Thistle start this Scottish Cup campaign off the back of a 2-1 defeat against Hearts in the SWPL1 in the last game of 2022 in a very “Jekyll and Hyde” performance. Having started slow in the first half, Brian Graham’s women were unlucky to not snatch at least a draw from the Jam tarts having had a brilliant second half to get back into the game.
A win here for Brian Graham’s side would get 2023 off to the best possible start and provide a huge boost as we look to go on to Hampden.

Queens Park have had a decent season thus far, picking up 16 points from a possible 33 in SWPL2.
Sitting in 4th position, they’ll be looking to push on and gain promotion to the SWPL1 for next season.
There are several club links between the squads, with former Jag Elenor Smith in their ranks as well as current Thistle keeper Lauren Grant who is on loan with QP and therefore is unavailable to play in this cup tie.
Midway through the season break has allowed the girls to regroup and spend some vital time with their family. The break has allowed the team to compose themselves as they prepare for not only this cup tie but also the second half of the season as we currently sit 6th.
Last season, Thistle made some fantastic progress in this cup as we got all the way to the semifinals before ultimately exiting to Glasgow City. Some optimism will be around the girls this season as both the semifinals and final will be held at Hampden this year. With such a memorable cup run last season culminating in that Semi-final, the girls will be hoping to repeat their horoics this season.
Strong followings from the Red and Yellow Army so far this season have really helped our girls, and hopefully more of the Thistle faithful come along to support their Jags as the Scottish Cup gets underway this Sunday evening at New Tinto Park.
Nearly a full squad again for Brian Graham leading into Sunday with only Taylor McGlashan out as she works her way back from injury with the defender now in training it shouldn’t be long before our longest serving player is back in a Red and Yellow shirt. A touch of rotation could be on the cards for the management team as a tough January league schedule approaches.
