This Wednesday 1st March, PTWFC take on Rangers at Broadwood Stadium for a 20:00 kick off.
Thistle come off the back of a fantastic 6-0 victory over Glasgow Women in the SWPL1. The girls put on a great display and and the goals last week and we’ll be looking to use this to spur us on against one of the best teams in the country.
A result here for Brian Graham’s side would be huge as we face another difficult challenge out in Cumbernauld.

🗣️Highlights and reaction post match
Rangers have had a good season thus far, picking up 46 points so far in the SWPL1 from a possible 57.
Sitting in 3rd position, 3 places and 21 points above the jags, they’ll be looking to bounce back having suffered defeat last time out in their match against fellow title contenders Celtic.
There are a few club links between the squads this season, with Megan Cunningham joining the red and yellow side of Glasgow on loan from Rangers at the start of the season ruling her out of this tie. Alongside this, the likes of Jordan McLintock and Claire Adams have also lined up for The Gers in the past.
The previous match between the clubs ended in a 6-0 loss for the Jags in what was a clinical performance from Rangers.
The high scoring victory against Glasgow Women was a sign of intent from our girls. They went out there and put on a display that was worthy of a top six position and are fully intending on securing that before the split happens. Only 3 massive games are remaining until that happens, and it all goes back to Brian Graham’s word to them ever since pre-season: Belief.
Great performances from start to finish in the match, with the girls unlucky to not pick out the back of the net more than the six times they did. Rachel Donaldson continued to drop jaws as she put away yet another goal of the season contender as part of her hat trick on the day to solidify herself as top scorer. Imogen Longcake scored her first goal since moving to Glasgow’s Red and Yellow, Thistle’s 500th goal of all time. A truly memorable occasion last Wednesday night was and we can only hope to keep that momentum going.
Strong followings from the Red and Yellow Army so far this season have really helped our girls, and there’s not a time more important for the Thistle faithful to come along and support their Jags. We want that top 6 and the support from our fans will help us hopefully secure that in the coming weeks.
Following the weekend break, it appears to be a fresh squad heading into this game. Megan Cunningham was recalled by the hosts for a week on an emergancy basis and as a twist of fate could line up in the match day squad against the Jags for this one. The management team could freshen things up with Aberdeen just around the corner so a touch of rotation may be on their mind as we look to prove ourselves in this Glasgow derby.
