It's a superb performance full of courage, determination and no little quality that sees Thistle come from a goal down to leave Tannadice with full points. 

The ball is safely in the arms of David Mitchell. Nearly there. 

Half way through the additional six minutes. 

A United free kick at the edge of the box is flicked away for a United throw on the other side. 

Lyon flicks the ball on and Dowds deftly lifts the ball past Walton and into the net but the flag goes up for offside. 

Minimum of six additional minutes to be played. 

Middleton's header clears Mitchell's crossbar. 

Mitchell makes a comfortable save from a low crisp Mochrie shot from outside the Thistle box. 

Fitzpatrick who has run and run and run tonight is treated for cramp after being fouled by Meekison. 

Middleton take the free kick. Mitchell is motionless and just as we're waiting to set the net ripple the ball slides just wide of target. 

Mitchell gets a strong fist to the corner but Docherty collects at the edge of the box and is fouled winning United a free kick in a dangerous position. 

Fotheringham works himself into a good shooting position at the edge of the box but he skies his effort into the empty stand behind David Mitchell. 

Lawless is only inches away from connecting with a Fitzpatrick cross. Fitzpatrick once again having the home defence firmly on the back foot. 

Mitchell is okay to continue. 

Under pressure Mitchell does well to hold on to a low cross and Mitchell will need a spot of treatment before play restarts. At least we aren't short of keepers on the bench!

Fitzpatrick's strong run finishes with a fierce drive that Walton does well to push round the post. 

Fotheringham's low drive skids wide of Mitchell's right hand post. 

Some debate up here as to whether it was Fitzpatrick or Milne with the important touch but Thistle are in front no matter what. 

Lawless' corner is cleared. He gets the ball back and this time Milne, we think, gets the touch at the back post to put Thistle in front. 

Thistle close again. Graham flicks the corner on and it's Walton again with a good stop this time denying Milne from close range. 

It takes a great stop from Walton to deny Muirhead from the free kick that follows. 

Denham pulls back Graham just as he looked like getting clear. That could have been red. 

Moult's effort from the corner of the box is well enough struck but straight at Mitchell. 

It's the home side with the early pressure at the start of the second half. 

It's a decent ball into the box for Fitzpatrick but it drifts away from Graham who is darting towards the back post. 

All square at the break. 

Minimum of 1 minute additional time. 

A Watt header doesn't cause Mitchell any problems. 

Fitzpatrick's corner is cleared. 

Graham has his feet taken from under him and Thistle have a free kick near the left corner of the United box. 

After missing a good chance earlier Brian Graham makes no mistake this time. It's new boy Williamson with the assist as he sets up the Thistle captain for his first goal of the season. 

More encouraging signs for Thistle as MacKenzie's powerful run from the back nearly helps create an opportunity for Fitzpatrick at the edge of the box but he can't get the ball sufficiently under control to manage a shot at goal. 

Graham collects the ball at the corner of the United box and tries to curl a shot into the far corner but his effort drifts wide of goal. 

Thistle should be level. Williamson sets up Graham for a chance inside the United six yard box but Graham can't hit target. 

Cudjoe doesn't make clean contact with a shot which allows Michell to make a comfortable save. 

Williamson can have no complaints about that as he catches Fotheringham late. 

It's an entirely avoidable goal for Thistle to lose. Williams' pass looking for Stanway is too short and Thistle are immediately under pressure and when a low cross comes in from the right it's an easy finish for Sibbald. 

A Watt cross is cleared only as far as Sibbald lurking outside the Thistle box but he drags his effort well wide of the Thistle goal. 

Graham's flick nearly plays in Fitzpatrick but Walton gets to the ball first. 

Sibbald's corner finds the head of Holt at the back post but he can't keep his header down and Mitchell isn't tested. 

First sign of the home side near the Thistle goal. Watt sends a low shot across the face of the Thistle goal before Glass sends a shot over Mitchell's crossbar. 

Fitzpatrick powers in a shot from outside the box that Holt gets his head to taking the pace off the ball allowing Walton to collect under his crossbar. 

MacKenzie fizzes in a low cross after collecting a Fitzpatrick cross but Walton collects at his front post. Scrappy first few minutes but Thistle starting to get into their stride. 

Thistle get the game underway. 

Thistle make two changes from the side that started the season at Peterhead for tonight's encounter with Dundee United. 

New loan signing from Rangers, Ben Williamson, comes straight into the starting eleven while David Mitchell gets the chance to start in goal.
