It's a big, and richly deserved, win for Thistle. 

Goals from Brian Graham and Scott Robinson put Thistle into a commanding position, and they withstand a direct approach from Morton well. 

A tiny bit of gloss is taken off the win with an injury time consolation from Morton denying Thistle what would have been a merited clean sheet. 

A header thumps off the Thistle post before the ball is returned into the box where Muirhead heads home.

Thistle don't go direct into the box with the corner. When the ball is whipped in Graham gets his head to it but Mullen makes a comfortable save.

Looks as if Milne was caught in the head while winning an aerial challenge, and he'll need some treatment before we can continue. 

The corner is delivered right on top of Mitchell who does well to get a fist to it. The referee spots an infringement in any case and Thistle have a free kick. 

The thumb goes up from the physio so it looks as if Graham will be okay to continue. 

Graham is back down and this time will need some treatment. 

Graham was down in the centre circle, but he is back up. Looks to be limping though. 

A header from the corner flies well wide of the Thistle goal. 

McInroy lifts a shot well over the bar with a shot from outside the Morton box. 

Lawless takes the corner but it is too deep. Neilson tries to retrieve the ball but is penalised for a push. 

Strapp again engages in some stadium removals but his long throw when it comes fails to threaten the Thistle goal on this occasion. 

Thistle, or rather Fitzpatrick, nearly catch Morton on the break. He picks the ball up near his own penalty box, drives forward and from inside the Morton angles a shot across goal and narrowly wide. 

Graham forces Mullen into a hurried clearance. McInroy picks up the ball and finds Graham who pokes a shot wide. 

Robinson touches the ball back to Neilson but he drags his shot wide of goal. 

The patient approach pays off for Thistle and when a cross comes over the right Robinson is there at the edge of the six yard box to fire Thistle into a 2-0 lead.

A Morton sub takes time out from his warm up to move an advertising hoarding, but Graham heads clear Strapp's long throw. 

The referee spots a push as Power's corner comes over and Thistle have a free kick. 

We're still a goal up but not quite sure how. Mitchell makes a excellent stop to deny Muirhead. It looks as if it should be an easy finish for Morton from the loose ball but Muirhead, our Muirhead, clears off the line. 

Back underway. No changes at the break. 

It's a deserved lead for Thistle though Morton did have Thistle under a little pressure as half-time approached. 

it's been a bit ill-tempered at times. 

With Thistle on the attack and a Morton down injured with what looks an ankle or leg knock, the referee strangely stops play. French, the Morton player, is fine and trits off the pitch.

Terrible challenge from Broadfoot on Robinson. A fully deserved yellow card. 

It's initially well defended but Morton pick the ball up again and Thistle find themselves under a bit of pressure. That eases after a silly, needless foul on Milne gives Thistle a free kick. 

A yellow card this time for Neilson and another Morton free kick deep inside the Thistle half. 

It's getting a little heated out there. 

Graham steps in to clear the danger following the free kick before being fouled himself.

We know he will have enjoyed that one. We certainly did. Graham's low drive has too much power for Mullen and beats him towards his right hand post. 21 for the season for Graham and a deserved lead on the day for Thistle. 

An ambitious effort from a free kick from McInroy sails over the Morton crossbar. 

Lawless takes the corner and it is met by the head of McBeth who sees his header go wide, but not by much. 

Graham can't the required type of touch to Fitzpatrick's cross to find the net and the ball squirms away from Robinson behind him. 

Graham nearly opens the scoring but is denied by a good Mullen stop from his fierce shot. Mullen can't hold the ball but is quick to gather the loose ball too. 

A teasing Fitzpatrick cross goes behind and over any waiting Thistle player inside the box. 

Mitchell has to make a good stop after the ball breaks to a Morton player inside the Thistle box. 

Robinson brings a save from Mullen. His shot is well enough but too direct to really trouble the Morton keeper though. 

Half a chance for Thistle as Robinson makes a good run in behind the Morton defence. His cross goes to the back post where Fitzpatrick sees his attempted cut back blocked.
