As it was a friendly there was no man of the match award at Kelty on Tuesday however there was definitely a fan of the match – lifelong Thistle supporter Scott Paterson.
Scott was the last-minute stand-in as duty paramedic for Tuesday night’s pre-season game at New Central Park, coming to the rescue to ensure the game kicked off, 10 minutes later than planned.
The following 90 minutes proved to be an extremely useful exercise for Kris Doolan’s team, and as a thank you to Scott for his invaluable assistance he was invited by the Thistle manager for lunch at the Wyre Stadium at Firhill yesterday.
Scott enjoyed a bite to eat and chatted with Kris and members of his support staff, including club physio Rob Dicke, who Scott spent much of Tuesday’s friendly standing alongside.
However it was not the first time Scott has spent time with Kris at the stadium – in a past life Scott was a Thistle ballboy and can be seen in this picture celebrating a Doolan goal against Hamilton Accies back in season 2015/16.
Scott, 21 from Bearsden, only recently graduated from Glasgow Caledonian University with a BSc Paramedic Science degree and begins a full-time role with the Scottish Ambulance service next month.
All at the Wyre Stadium at Firhill join Kris in thanking Scott for stepping up for the Jags on Tuesday and wish him well when he starts his new role in August. Thank you, Scott.
