Partick Thistle FC can today confirm that Ji Stevenson has joined cinch League 2 side Clyde on a season-long loan deal, subject to Scottish FA clearance.
Ji, who joined the Thistle Weir Youth Academy at under 12s level, signed his two-year modern apprenticeship with the club last summer and has been in training with the first team for well over a year now.
The 18-year-old made his senior debut for Thistle in the closing stages of an SPFL Trust Trophy match against Stranraer during the 2021/22 season but has been more consistently involved this pre-season featuring in a number of our friendlies before coming off the bench at Tannadice in the Viaplay Cup.
Everyone at the club wishes Ji the very best for the duration of his loan spell.
Thistle manager Kris Doolan said:
“I’m really happy to get this loan move arranged for Ji. He’s a player who has shown up well during pre-season but with opportunities more limited now, we were keen to give him the chance to play on a regular basis.
“He’s going to a good level and it will be a real challenge for him but that’s what you need as a young player. Getting out there on the pitch in a competitive environment is the best way to learn and I’m excited to see how Ji gets on.”
