💻️Highlights and reaction post match
Hamilton have endured a tough start to their season, picking up 2 points from their opening 11 fixtures and sitting bottom of the table.
Following the arrival of new gaffer Robert Watson, Hamilton have struggled to gain any momentum suffering heavy defeats to the likes of Celtic, Rangers and Hibs, who beat them 8-1 in their previous fixture.
Thistle picked up some impressive victories against Hamilton last season, as well as already gaining a 3-0 victory away to the Lanarkshire outfit at the start of this season. Hamilton currently have Rachel Wright on loan from the Jags therefore she will be ineligible for this fixture.
A 3-0 loss to Celtic in our previous league game was unlucky for Brian Graham’s side. Despite the loss, Thistle had plenty of positives to be seen against Celtic’s full time outfit filled with international talent.
Goals from Paula Partido, the Real Madrid loanee who earned a spot in the team of the week for her performance, Murphy Agnew and Chloe Craig were enough to see of Thistle, who are eager to put this match in the past and move on.
Brian Graham spoke in his post match at how he was pleased with his team’s performance, in front of a record breaking crowd at Petershill Park with 366. He touched on how, for the first 70 minutes at least, the jags gave the hoops a really solid game and he’ll look to use the positives in the build up to their next fixture against Hamilton this Sunday.
For the first time since becoming Partick Thistle Women, we will play a competitive fixture at Firhill Stadium, the home of Partick Thistle’s Men’s side.
Having had such strong attendances from the Red and Yellow army all season, especially with a record breaking attendance in the previous fixture against Celtic at Petershill Park, a first fixture at the Wyre Stadium at Firhill is more than warranted.
Tickets are FREE for this fixture, with more being sold for this game already breaking the record set at Peasy a few weeks back. Come along and show your support for our girls, and let’s fill Firhill!
A full squad is available for Brian Graham for this monumental fixture therefore the gaffer has options heading into this game.
Ava Easdon and Jenna Ferguson have been away on international duty with the Scotland U19s squad so they are both in contention to return to the squad while Emma Lawton has recovered from the knock she suffered a few weeks ago so could slot back in at right back.
With everyone looking to play in this big match at the stadium, It will be up to the management squad to select the strongest squad available for this SWPL matchup.
