🆚 Our Opponents: Glasgow City

Glasgow City have had a good season so far, sitting in 3rd position with 35 points this season. Having won the SWPL title last season, Leanne Ross’ side will be looking to grab all three points here and keep up pace on league leaders Rangers, who sit 8 points clear of the current champions.

Having already beat the Jags 3-0 at the start of the season, City will look to use their professional status and gain victory once more.

📈Thistle so far

The defeat to Hearts was a sore one to take for management, players and fans alike. A match filled with controversy including an equaliser being disallowed for the Jags as the ball was seen to be out of play by the referee. As well as this, a red card was shown to skipper Demi Falconer as she was seen to have stopped a goal scoring opportunity just past the halfway line. as the visitors ran away with all 3 points.

Brian Graham spoke after the match and was very frustrated at the officiating on display as he could not understand the lack of consistency from the referee and his assistants. Other than that, he was delighted with the performances from his girls for going toe to toe with a professional outfit and giving them more than a worthy match up, wishing his girls had just been slightly more clinical in front of goal.

Strong Followings from the Red and Yellow army have really helped our girls this season. We would love to see as many of you as possible as we approach this Glasgow derby “away” at Petershill Park.

🗞 Team News

Shona Cowan returns to the squad having been ineligible against her parent club last weekend.

That being said, Ava Easdon is unfortunately ineligible for this tie against her parent club as she is on loan from Glasgow City this season. As well as this, Demi Falconer will now serve a one match suspension for her red card against Hearts.

With that being said, it will be up to Brian Graham and the rest of the management team to field the best possible side heading into this fixture.
