Partick Thistle Women’s FC is pleased to announce the signing of Aimee Anderson on a loan deal until the end of the season from Heart of Midlothian.
Comfortable in the middle of the park, on the flanks or up front, Aimee came through the youth ranks at Celtic before joining Hearts in 2021.
Anderson played 22 times for the Edinburgh side en route to a fourth-placed finish in SWPL1 last term and also scored a goal against rivals Hibernian which was nominated for the SWPL Goal of the Season award.
The 19-year-old now swaps the Jambos for the Jags to boost Thistle’s push for the highest finish possible with the team currently sat in sixth place after 17 games.
On the signing, PTWFC manager Brian Graham said:
“I’m thrilled to welcome Aimee to the club for the remainder of the season. She’s a player who we obviously know from having played against Hearts and I think she’ll fit right in with our team.
“She can play in a few different positions, has real quality and is also willing to work hard for the team which I think adds up to an excellent signing for us.
“We’ve now made three signings this month and I think you can see a common theme. They’re all players with experience in this league who want to improve as individuals but more importantly contribute to a team effort which is why I’m so excited to work with them over the coming weeks and months.”
After joining, Aimee Anderson said:
“I was very excited when I found out Thistle were interested in signing me. It’s a club that’s been getting better and better for years now and the team continues to improve all the time.
“I know quite a few of the girls who are here from playing with them at club and international level and they’ve got nothing but good things to say about the coaches and the training here so that definitely made it an easier decision.”
