It has been quite the journey in recent years for Partick Thistle WFC, and Demi Falconer has been there for every step of that journey and as Club Captain has led from the front.
She was part of the team that made the step up to SWPL1.
She was part of the side that retained topflight status, completing 100 successive appearances without missing a single minute of action in the process, and reached the semi-final of the Scottish Cup.
She has been part of the side that has achieved successive top six finishes.
And as Captain she led the Club out in their very first Cup Final just last month.
We are absolutely delighted, therefore, to announce that Demi has committed her future to Partick Thistle WFC for season 2024-2025.
With much football still to be played in the current season to have secured the services of one of the league’s most accomplished defenders, who has now worn a Thistle jersey on 116 occasions, for the next campaign is further evidence that the journey the Club is on is nowhere near its final destination.
Said manager Brian Graham; “I’m delighted Demi has committed to the club for next season. Demi has been central to everything we have achieved over the last 4 or so years.
She epitomises everything that is great about this group of players and this football club and is a leader both on and off the park.
I don’t think Demi gets the praise or plaudits she deserves from outwith Partick Thistle, for me she’s one of the best defenders in the league and probably the most underrated player in the SWPL. So I’m delighted she’ll be leading this side out again next season
Captain Demi Falconer said: “I didn’t even have to think about it to commit for next season. I love playing for this football club and I’m so proud to lead these girls out every Sunday.
“This will be my fifth season here and we’ve come on every season for the last four. The history we have made together has been unbelievable, so I’m really excited to see where the next one takes us”
