Programme
There will be no PTFC Matchday Programme for this weekend’s game.
Thistle's dismal record in this competition continues.
Taggart converts from the spot to complete a miserable afternoon.
Milne fouls inside the box and Alloa have a chance to seal their win.
There is one last chance for Thistle but Stanway shoots wide.
Alloa win a free kick deep inside the Thistle half. And that will likely be it for the afternoon.
This corner goes out for a goal kick and we are in added time. Won't be too much of that.
It's a really poor corner that nearly leads to Thistle scrambling the ball in.
Ogayi clears from the feet of Ablade.
Milne turns and shoots inside the box but sees his shot blocked by a defender.
Graham takes the free kick. He gets enough height to get the ball over the wall. Too much height though as it clears the bar with a bit to spare.
Diack is fouled outside the Alloa box. About 25 yards from goal, perhaps a shade more. Central position.
O'Donnell's free kick hits the Thistle wall.
Alloa free kick near the right corner of the Thistle box.
Into the final 10 minutes. This would go straight to penalties if level at 90 minutes but Thistle would need to find an equaliser for that. They don't remotely look like finding that equaliser though.
Thistle don't properly clear the free kick and the ball drops to Cawley at the edge of the box who fires a cracker past Roberts.
Alloa win a free kick in from the right touchline deep inside the Thistle half.
Chance for Virtanen near the edge of the Thistle box but he shoots high over the bar.
Anxiety again for Thistle as a cross from the left comes into the box. Nobody in an Alloa shirt though can get a touch to it.
Play quickly moved to the other end and Ablade forces a save from Ogayi.
Roberts has to push away a low drive from Buchanan as Alloa threaten to take the lead.
And that's why Thistle needed that second goal. Buchanan sends over an excellent cross from the right that Cawley heads powerfully past Roberts.
Graham can't quite get on the end of a Milne knock down.
Thistle are in control of this game but they really could do with the comfort of a second goal.
Turner takes the free kick. He gets the ball round the Alloa wall but can't hit target.
Graham has his ankles clipped and Thistle have a free kick near the edge of the Alloa box.
Nilsson clips a cross into the box for Graham who heads narrowly wide.
Lyon is able to find Chalmers to his right. Chalmers advances into the Alloa box before sending a shot over the bar.
Milne has a shot from outside the box but it harmlessly clears the Alloa crossbar.
Turner takes the corner but Ogayi makes a good catch in his 6 yard box.
Back underway. No changes at the break.
Thistle lead, and deservedly so, at the break but they haven't really built on the lead that Brian Graham's bullet header after 14 minutes gave them.
An Alloa head gets on the end of Waters' corner but the header isn't remotely threatening the Thistle goal.
Turner gets two shots in quick succession, both blocked by Alloa defenders.
A Chalmers cross, after good play from Nilsson and Fitzpatrick, is cleared with Graham just waiting to tap home.
Taggart tries a long range effort that isn't too far wide of goal.
It's Chalmers that takes the free kick though. He finds McBeth at the back post but the referee spots a push and Alloa have a free kick.
Lyon is fouled and Thistle will have another chance to load the Alloa box. Turner over the ball again.
Thistle are careless in possession and that allows Buchanan to pick up a pass from Donnelly but his shot is blocked.
Turner takes the free kick but it is easily cleared.
Chalmers, not for the first time, is fouled and Thistle have a free kick in from the right touchline.
Alloa have seen more of the ball since the Thistle opener and they are close to an equaliser with Donnelly's header hitting the outside of Roberts' left hand post.
A deserved opener for Thistle. Milne sends a cross over the left and Graham bullets a header into the back of the net.
The first ten minutes have almost exclusively been played in the Alloa half. One chance for Thistle so far which Graham fired over the bar. No great tempo to the game but Thistle moving the ball about the pitch.
Turner takes the corner but he doesn't go direct into the box with it. The ball is worked to Chalmers outside the box who sees his shot blocked.
First chance for Thistle. Fitzpatrick's neat pass finds Graham who blasts over the bar.
Chalmers rolls the corner to Turner whose cross is cleared.
Thistle kick-off and will shoot towards the John Lambie Stand in the first half.
Thistle's SPFL Trust Trophy campaign starts this afternoon with a tie against League One Alloa Athletic.
Manager Kris Doolan has resisted the chance to make a raft of changes and sticks, more or less, with the side that earned the first league win of the season last weekend.
Dan O'Reilly misses out due to a suspension carried forward from last season and he is replaced by Charlie Sayers in the only change to the side that started against Queen's Park.
Included among the nine substitutes is Aaron Muirhead who returns after a period out injured.
