Partick Thistle FC is delighted to announce that defender Dan O’Reilly has signed a one-year contract extension with the club.
The Irishman has been a key part of Kris Doolan’s side this season, playing every minute of the league campaign so far and winning the McCrea Financial Services Player of the Month award for September.
O’Reilly joined the club in January after a brief but successful spell with Raith Rovers having also previously played in the Scottish Championship with Hamilton Accies.
An injury suffered in February limited Dan’s opportunities to play at the back end of last season but the centre-half has made up for lost time this term, featuring in 13 of the team’s 15 matches.
Thistle manager Kris Doolan said:
“I think everyone can now see why we were so excited that Dan decided to join the club back in January. He’s been a real standout for us in the opening stages of this season.
“Dan has everything that you look for in a centre-half in terms of his work rate, determination, commitment and professionalism. He’s someone who comes into the stadium every day and gives his all and is a terrific example to all of his teammates.
“On the pitch, no matter who he’s played beside or what formation he’s played in he’s been able to perform to an impressive standard and hopefully there’s plenty more where that came from for the rest of the season and beyond.”
