We are pleased to share some important updates as Partick Thistle FC continues to strengthen its governance, improve engagement with our supporters, and plan for a bright future.
First, the club has now formally signed off and issued its Corporate Governance Manual, which has been developed in collaboration between the club board, trustees and senior management. This document outlines the structures, processes and principles that will guide how the club is governed, ensuring transparency, accountability, and strong decision-making.
The manual is now available for all supporters to read in full under the new ‘Governance’ sub-section of the club website, located within the ‘Club’ main section.
This is a significant step toward ensuring the long-term sustainability and success of the club, and we believe it will help everyone understand how decisions are made and how they align with the club’s values.
Additionally, we are delighted to announce that Richard Beastall has been elected as the Chairman of Partick Thistle FC, following a unanimous vote by the Board. Richard has been a vital part of the club’s off-field journey since joining the board in 2022, and we are confident his leadership will help guide us toward future success.
Richard said: “It’s an extremely proud day for me to be named Chairman of Partick Thistle Football Club, the club which – as it is to all supporters – is so important to me and my family. I’d like to thank my fellow Board directors for their demonstration of confidence in me and I look forward to working closely with them, the trustees and all connected with Thistle in the weeks and months ahead.
“Collaboration has been so important in supporting the significant strides made to date in our fan ownership journey. The role of Chairman exists to ensure that collaboration continues, and that there are strong links across all areas of the club and our communities back to the Board and that we have the strongest possible platform for a healthy Partick Thistle FC for future generations to enjoy.”
Richard will say more to supporters early next week in his first recorded interview as Chairman.
Finally, as part of our commitment to further enhance the club’s strategic direction and consistent with the Corporate Governance Manual, we have launched an initial set of three working groups focused on Finance, Governance and Supporter Engagement. These groups will play an influential role in defining the future direction of the club, and we are looking for supporters and individuals with relevant expertise to volunteer and contribute.
Supporters who feel they have the necessary skills and experience and would be interested in joining one of these groups should send a copy of their CV along with details of which group they would like to join to . Details of what each of the groups do can be found in the Corporate Governance Manual.
Thank you for your continued support.
