Vacancies: Thistle Weir Youth Academy coaches

The Thistle Weir Youth Academy is currently recruiting for a number of coaching positions (youth phase squad coach, children’s phase squad coach, support coaches).

Role: Part Time – working under direction from the Academy Director and the Head of Coaching,
Salary: Salary to be agreed, depending on experience and qualifications.
Location(s): Based at Lochinch Police Sports Facility, Pollok Park, Glasgow,
Days / times: Two midweek training sessions, weekend match cover.

The post requires:

• Youth phase- Minimum B Licence
• Children’s phase – Minimum Advanced Children’s Licence
• Support coach- Minimum Level 2 Award at C Licence or Childrens Award

An excellent opportunity has arisen to join the progressive Thistle Weir Youth Academy. We are seeking to recruit exceptional individuals who are dynamic, self-motivated and good communicators to play a pivotal role in our mission to develop youth players for Partick Thistle Football Club.

The applicant will:

1. Have an unrivalled passion for developing young footballers.
2. Proactively promote the consistent application of the Thistle Weir Youth Academy mission, values and beliefs.
3. Have the ability to be able to affect change in individual players and the team.

Skills Match:

Essential

• Minimum requirements of C Licence or Children’s Award at Level 2. Experience of working with youth players aged 11 to 18 years, along with good leadership and organisational skills.
• A confident and vibrant personality.
• Availability to take part in evening and weekend work.
• PVG Scheme disclosure

Desirable

• Sports First Aid or equivalent qualification.
• A current driving licence and access to a car.

Start date for post would be negotiable, ideally by 1st January 2018.
