Hi pals! How are you?
This week I felt like a proper VIP as I went along to Castlehill Primary in Bearsden to help my pals Provost Alan Brown and Head Teacher Suzanne Kenny open a brand new football pitch…and it looks amazing. So good to see more young people in the local area getting into sport. We might even see the next Thistle star come from the school in a few years time!
Gerry Birtton, Thistle Weir Academy Director, chummed me along and to make sure the pitch is up to scratch, the pupils tested it out with a penalty shoot-out against me. Boy, do I hurt today though. Next time I need to stretch it out before going head to head with so many talented footballers.
Should maybe have taken Tomáš Černý along for some last minute practice too! Anyway, I hope to see you all down here at the Energy Check Stadium at Firhill to help me cheer on the boys this weekend.
