Wheelchair users can watch the match from the viewing area at the back of the West Stand. Entrance to this area is by Gate R which is on Sandeman Street. Dundee United have advised that it may be possible to find a space on this road up until 90 minutes before kick off.
Blue badge parking is available in North Isla Street on a first come first served basis. North Isla Street runs off Tannadice Street which is on the opposite side of the stadium from the wheelchair entrance at Gate R. Supporters’ coaches also park here.
Dundee United have advised that ambulant fans can also enter the stadium by Gate R.
2019 is here and Partick Thistle start the new year by visiting Tannadice to take on Dundee United. There have been five additions made to the Jags squad over the past couple of weeks with a few potential debuts on the cards tomorrow and Thistle manager, Gary Caldwell began his chat with ptfc.co.uk by discussing the busy start to the January transfer window:
“We’d been building up to the window for a number of weeks. Making sure, as a Club, that we were ready to act and bring in a few players and we’re happy with what we’ve been able to do so far.”
Gary then gave us a rundown of the four signings he has made since 2019 began.
“Steven Saunders was the first and he brings great experience with him. He’s played in the Scottish Premiership and knows the Championship well too. He’s the right kind of player but also the right kind of character so we were very happy to see him sign.
“We’ve also signed Conor Hazard on loan from Celtic and he’s come in to allow for some rotation. Jamie Sneddon’s played a lot recently but we wanted to have the opportunity to rest him and bringing Conor in gives us that chance. He has pedigree having been brought in by Celtic as a teenager and played with the Northern Irish senior team.”
On top of Saunders and Hazard, Caldwell has been able to secure the signatures of Joe Cardle and Alistair Roy today and he told us a bit about them as well.
“Joe is someone who has been training with us for a few weeks so we’ve had the chance to have a close look at him and get to know what he’s like as a person. At the end of the day, he’s proven at this level and should be a great signing.
“Ally’s another guy who we’ve had in training which has allowed us to see exactly the type of player and character he is. He’s still very young so he’s got potential to improve but we feel he can make an impact on the team straight away.”
Gary also touched on the extension to Callum Wilson’s contract as the young midfielder penned a year’s extension to his deal earlier this week.
“Callum has been outstanding since I’ve arrived at the Club in terms of his attitude and application in training. He’s a player who you can see is improving day-by-day and has earned his place on the bench at the moment as well as his contract extension.
“There is a possibility that he could go out on loan if the right opportunity presents itself but we’ll have to wait and see on that front.”
Going back to the five signings the Club has made recently, Gary says that he has no problem handing them their first appearances tomorrow afternoon if he feels it will benefit the team.
“We’re still waiting on clearance for Joe Cardle so we’ll have to wait and see for him but the rest of them are going straight into the squad. Whatever happens, the team should have a different look tomorrow and hopefully we’ll produce a different result.”
The Jags boss finished by giving an injury update regarding his squad.
“We’re in a pretty good place in terms of the squad. The long-term guys are still working hard to get back to fitness but we don’t really have any little knocks at the moment.
“Souleymane Coulibaly is back doing partial training. He’s probably still a few weeks away from getting back involved on matchdays but we’re delighted to have him back doing some bits as part of the squad.”

Partick Thistle began the new year this afternoon as they travelled to Tannadice to take on third placed Dundee United. The Jags were looking to kick off 2019 with a win after three games without the taste of victory while Dundee United were aiming to bounce back from a disappointing defeat to Alloa Athletic at the Indodrill Stadium.
Gary Caldwell made a number of changes to his side as he handed starts to three of his five new signings. Conor Hazard was the first debutant, replacing Jamie Sneddon in goals behind a back four containing another debuting player, Steven Saunders as well as Sean McGinty, James Penrice and Christie Elliott. Gary Harkins made his first Jags appearance since 2009 in the midfield beside Craig Slater, Stuart Bannigan and Blair Spittal while Kris Doolan and Miles Storey continued up front. On the bench were new faces, Joe Cardle and Ally Roy along with Jamie Sneddon, Chris Erskine, Dan Jefferies, Andrew McCarthy and Callum Wilson.
The away side started the game on top and could have had the lead early on through Miles Storey. A long ball over the top gave the number 19 something to chase and he brilliantly to bring the ball down before shooting across goal. His left-footed effort was on target but Benjamin Siegrist did well to get down and block. The rebound nearly fell the way of Kris Doolan but the Thistle striker could only turn it wide, on the stretch.
However, when Doolan got his next sight of goal he made no mistake. This time he was getting on the end of a Craig Slater corner which dipped brilliantly to find the number nine in space. Then from around seven or eight yards, Doolan nodded his side in front as he bagged goal number 119 in Jags colours.
Half chances then followed with Kris Doolan going close again and Gary Harkins seeing a header saved before Miles Storey had another chance to open his account for 2019. The Jags frontman was first to a knockdown from Conor Hazard’s kick-out and he controlled well with his thigh before shooting. His swerving volley looked goal-bound but was parried well by Siegrist who was on hand to deny Storey again.
The Maryhill men had one last chance to double their lead going into the break with Miles Storey central to the Jags play again. Some good football helped to feed Miles Storey the ball on the right flank. He intelligently cut the ball back to the late runner, Blair Spittal but his low effort was saved excellently by Benjamin Siegrist who got down quickly with his right hand to keep Spittal out.
So the teams went into the break with Thistle surely rueing missed chance while the home side would be feeling lucky to be just one goal down. Some of the Jags’ high-tempo play had ripped United apart with Benjamin Siegrist keeping the Tangerines in the contest.
As it turned out Thistle would be punished for missing those first half chance as the Terrors drew level on 61 minutes. Their goal came from a spot kick which was awarded after Sean McGinty fouled half time substitute Aidan Nesbitt in the box. Fraser Fyvie stepped up to take the penalty and calmly sent Conor Hazard the wrong way to make it 1-1.
Shortly after that goal Thistle made their first substitution of the game as Gary Harkins was replaced by Joe Cardle.
Dundee United did have the ball in the back of the net after 73 minutes but the celebrations were cut short by the referee’s whistle. With the ball high in the air, Conor Hazard came to claim the ball. Pavol Safranko was nearby though and tried to put Hazard off with a sly nudge. The ‘keeper consequently dropped the ball into the net but was saved by Bobby Madden who judged there to have been a foul.
The Jags then made another change as Steven Saunders was forced off due to cramp and was replaced by Dundee loanee, Dan Jefferies. Then Gary Caldwell committed a third substitution as Ally Roy made his debut by replacing Miles Storey.
After those changes, there was little to discuss as the Jags withstood a raft of United attacks to secure a point. Considering results elsewhere and the first half chance they had, Thistle were probably left feeling slightly disappointed to have only claimed a point.
They now face the challenge of Falkirk next Saturday at the Energy Check Stadium at Firhill as the league bottom two sides battle it out. Kick-off is 15:00.

Partick Thistle started 2019 with a 1-1 draw away at Dundee United in a result which leaves them bottom of the Ladbrokes Championship. The Jags started on fire with some excellent football being played and they were rewarded in the ninth minute when Kris Doolan nodded home the opener from Craig Slater’s corner. They failed to add to that lead despite a few chances and were punished for that as the hosts equalised in the second half. Fraser Fyvie fired the leveller home after substitute Aidan Nesbitt was brought down by Sean McGinty in the box. United pushed for a winner late on but Thistle held out for the point. Jags manager, Gary Caldwell, spoke to ptfc.co.uk following the final whistle:
“It’s a familiar feeling for us unfortunately. I thought we were superb in the first half; dominated the game and got our goal. We then should have added to it and put the game out of their reach but we didn’t and paid for it in the second half.
“They came out and had a go. They were at home and only one down so that’s to be expected but the lesson for us is that when we get good chances like we did, we need to take them because teams will punish you.”
Gary gave us his view on the penalty decision which brought Dundee United their leveller as Aidan Nesbitt went down under the challenge of Sean McGinty.
“It was soft, for me. I didn’t speak to the referee about it because there’s no point really. Every week both managers are unhappy with the officials so I don’t think it’s bad luck or anything like that, just poor refereeing.”
He then touched on the performances of his new signings, three of whom started the match.
“I was very happy with the way they played. They aren’t all right up to speed which is why Gary Harkins and Steven Saunders came off but I thought they all contributed to the performance and fit in well with the rest of the team.”
Caldwell also discussed next week’s crunch match against Falkirk, saying that he feels more confident in his side’s ability to get a win after their showing at Tannadice.
“I had been saying for a while that I couldn’t wait for January and today’s performance was why. We looked much better with just a few additions to help the squad and now I feel like we have something to build on going into a big game next Saturday.”

A cut back finds McMulan but Hazard parries and McGinty booms clear.
Cardle gambles on a back header but Bouhenna has just enough on it to guide it back to the goalkeeper.
Safranko has the ball in the net but it is ruled out for a clear barge on goalkeeper Hazard.
Cardle slips as he tries to clear. The ball is played to Safranko who can only hit the frame of Hazard with a shot.
Slater stings the palms of Siegrist with a shot from the corner of the box.
Fyvie sends Hazard the wrong way.
Nesbitt falls in the box and wins a penalty for United.
Hazard produces a great block inside the six yard box before sending Thistle on the break. Bannigan runs out of legs and United are able to shepherd it out for a goal kick.

Callum Booth is outpaced by Elliott and has to drag his former teammate back to halt the attack.
Storey is in behind the defence again. He squares it to Spittal who hits it first time from 12 yards forcing the tall goalkeeper into a low save. The goalkeeper just reaches it by stretching out his frame.
Thistle break through Slater and Spittal and cause United more porblems. A clever turn from Slater buys space before Spittal's low shot from 20 yards is claimed by the goalkeeper.
Hazard's booming kick lands at the edge of the United box. It's partially cleared to Storey who volleys it and forces a stunning save from the goalkeeper to push it wide.
A deep corner routine is met by Harkins who sends a header back across goal but the keeper claims.
Fyvie picks out the run of Safranko but his header is wide of target.
Slater takes the free kick but it is a foot over the bar.
Thistle pounce on a slack pass and advance. Storey wins a free kick 25 yards from goal.
Elliott intercepts a crossfield pass and begins a Jags counter attack. He plays it to Storey who tries to go round the defender but just runs out of pitch
McGinty's clearance is blocked by McMullan who races after it. It's good defending from the central defender to force him wide giving Hazard an easy save
A Slater free kick is destined for Doolan's head but Frans gets their first. Thistle keep the pressure on through McGinty who battles with Booth at the corner flag
Another good corner causes defensive confusion for United. Harkins cycles it back in but United scramble clear.
Doolan forces a great save from the goalkeeper with a shot on the turn.
Penrice's cross is met by Doolan as he tries a scissors kick. United break but a commanding block from Saunders halts the danger.
The corner is poor and goes out for a Jags goal kick
Slater's corner is met by Doolan who is in acres of space and he heads beyond the goalkeeper.
Spittals free kick hits the wall and loops out for a corner.
Thistle remain on the front foot and win a free kick 22 yards from goal
Penrice's cross is met by Doolan at the back post but his header is straight at the goalkeeper.
Storey gets in behind the defence. He fires a low left footed shot across goal which Siegrist pushes away from goal. Under pressure from two defenders, Doolan can't bundle home the loose ball.
