With a number of small visiting supports anticipated to visit the Energy Check Stadium at Firhill this campaign, the Club has investigated the best way to accommodate those supporters.
For approximately half of the Ladbrokes Championship games in the 2018/19 season (and potentially additional cup ties), smaller away supports will be housed in section eight and nine at the north end of the Jackie Husband Stand. By not opening the Colin Weir Stand for these fixtures, and reducing the need for additional stewards, turnstile operators, power and logistical resource, the Club will save a significant sum per game. This will be channelled towards the manager’s playing budget.
The 5 season ticket holders, who previously sat in sections eight or nine, have all been contacted and offered alternative seats. These supporters also have the option to return to their original seats for games where the away support is accommodated in the Colin Weir Stand.
Larger away supports will continue to utilise the Colin Weir Stand as in previous seasons.
The disabled viewing platform in the Jackie Husband Stand will remain for the exclusive use of Thistle supporters. There will be segregation in place between the away section and the viewing platform where nobody will be permitted to sit, to allow a positive match day experience for supporters using the viewing platform. Disabled Jags fans can also use the wheelchair area at the front of the John Lambie Stand, which many currently do due to the atmosphere created within the stand.
Away disabled supporters can utilise the disabled section at the front of the Colin Weir Stand as in previous years.
