Thistle travel to Celtic Park tomorrow evening and both the venue and time of year will have Jags fans of a certain vintage reminiscing of a famous day in the autumn of 1992.
Saturday, 26 September that year, in fact, is the very afternoon engrained in the memories of so many of us as the day Geordie Shaw put the ball in the Celtic net (twice) and John Lambie’s heroes announced that the Jags were back.
Our first league win at Celtic Park in 28 years, Shaw’s brace – his strike partner was none other than Gerry Britton – set the tone for an unforgettable season back in the top flight where Thistle would not only survive but thrive, also defeating Rangers 3-0 at home.
Get in touch via with any questions you have about the match and the celebrations for the man himself as the one and only George Shaw, who also scored a Firhill winner against Celtic the following season for good measure, will answer them in this Blast From The Past Q&A special.
We’ll publish the best of your questions and Geordie’s answers ahead of kick-off tomorrow evening.
