Thistle's Premier Sports Cup run comes to an end at the quarter-final stage as Aberdeen run out comfortable 4-1 winners.
It was a better showing from Thistle in the second half with the damage all being done in an opening 45 minutes that are best forgotten.
Minimum of 2 minutes additional time to be played.
Graham shoots from outside the box but Roos makes a good stop to his right.
Any faint chance that Thistle had of a remarkable comeback are extinguished as Duncan curls a beauty beyond Sneddon and into the net.
Sneddon gets a touch to Kennedy's shot to take the ball over the bar.
Lawless is nearly on the end of a Graham through ball but Scales gets his toe to the ball ahead of Lawless.
Half a chance for Lawless at the edge of the box but he snatches at the ball with the result that his shot is wide of target.
Brownlie is once more on the end of a Bannigan corner but this time his header is no threat to the Aberdeen goal.
Thistle are making a better fist of things in the second half and are trying to find a second goal but Aberdeen remain firmly in control at present.
The corner is cleared though Thistle continue to press and Hodson drags a shot wide of goal from the edge of the box.
Lawless is fouled about 10 yards outside the Aberdeen box.
Ramirez nearly catches out Sneddon who gets across to his left-hand post just in time to push the ball round the post.
Sneddon spreads himself well to deny Ramirez who collects Coulson's pass.
Crowd: 9,410 with 730 Thistle fans.
There is a glimmer of hope as Brownlie's back post header from Bannigan's corner sneaks past Roos.
It looks as if Thistle have one to five at the back with Hodson sweeping behind Brownlie and Akinola.
Ramirez shoots over the bar from the edge of the box.
It's been a nightmare of a first half for Thistle who have been blown away by an impressive Aberdeen performance, but Thistle have also been the architect of their own downfall with a series of unforced errors contributing to the three-goal deficit.
To make matters worse Kevin Holt has been forced to go off with an injury sustained just before the 45-minute mark and with the early withdrawal of Aaron Muirhead Thistle have made two of their permitted substitutions before the break.
Sneddon whips the ball away from the feet of an advancing Besuijen.
Minimum of 3 minutes additional time but this won't include the time that Holt has been down.
The stretcher is coming on for Holt who is sat upon the Pittodrie turf.
Holt is down receiving some treatment and we have a break in play. The half-time whistle can't come quickly enough.
Aberdeen players are almost queueing up to score a fourth but Hodson is able to make a goal line clearance.
It's an unforced error from Docherty who gives the ball away in midfield. Coulson's shot looks to take a deflection and Sneddon is beaten. It's been a nightmare first third of the game for Thistle.
Milne picks up a Tiffoney pass and pokes a shot towards goal, but it is an easy save from Roos.
It's a disaster for Thistle who badly needed to avoid conceding a second before the break. There is a panic inside the Thistle defence as they struggle to keep Aberdeen out and Holt slices the ball into his own net. Right now, it is hard to see a way back into this game.
Aberdeen are pressing hard for a second and Besuijen isn't far away with a shot that is just wide of Sneddon's left-hand post.
Roos twice has to have strong hands to clear McKinnon crosses. The ball is played back into the box where Dowds nods the ball towards goal, but Roos makes an easy save.
McCrorie strides forward from midfield before sending a shot over Sneddon's crossbar.
Hodson comes on at right back with McMillan going in the centre of the Thistle defence.
McKinnon leaves the corner to Bannigan. It's cleared only as far as Docherty, but he is quickly closed down and his shot is blocked.
Muirhead fouls Lopes who again has the beating of him for pace. There in no second yellow card though for the Thistle defender.
The pace of Lopes has already looked a real threat and it his pace, after a slack pass in the midfield, that gives him his opportunity and with just Sneddon to beat he makes no mistake.
The Thistle wall does its job at the free kick but Aberdeen remain on the attack.
Muirhead's foul on Lopes gibes Aberdeen a free kick in a dangerous position left of centre outside the Thistle box.
McKinnon's corner goes deep where it is picked up by Lawless who sees his cross headed clear.
It's Thistle's turn to come close. The ball drops to McKinnon just outside the box and he forces Roos into making a full length save to his left.
The ball is safely in Sneddon's hands after the corner but the home side have made an impressive start to the game.
Muirhead has to head clear as Aberdeen are close to an opening goal.
Aberdeen get the game underway.
Thoughts of promotion challenges are put on hold for one night as Thistle take the road to the northeast and a Premier Sports Cup Quarter-Final tie with Aberdeen.
Ian McCall has made two changes to the side that started against Hamilton in the league at the weekend. Scott Tiffoney, scorer of the winning goal on Saturday, and Anton Dowds start with Aidan Fitzpatrick and Brian Graham starting he night on the substitute bench.
