Seven full minutes of injury time fail to help Thistle to what would have been an undeserved equaliser. 

Thistle led at the break through James Lyon's goal but two second half goals gave the home side all three points. 

Fitzpatrick is penalised for a foul and Airdrie have a free kick inside the Thistle half. That should be it on a forgettable afternoon. 

Airdrie shoot wide of goal as the game continues. 

Graham nods the ball into the net but the second time this afternoon is denied by a flag for offside. 

The ball is in the Airdrie half but it is a throw for the home side. 

Into additional time. Five minutes would be a reasonable estimate. 

It's a poor corner and Airdrie break with Mitchell required to save. 

We're going to have a break in play for Airdrie's McGregor to receive some treatment. Time is running out on Thistle. There should be a good few minutes of added time but Alston's chance aside there hasn't been even a hint of a Thistle equaliser. 

Neilson pushes a pass through to Alston and his shot goes just wide of Rae's left hand post. 

A Williams cross is cleared but there is no Thistle player at the edge of the box to try and pick up the ball. 

Mitchell has to come out of his area to head the ball clear. 

Thistle are preparing to make a double switch. 

Mitchell collects the corner at the second attempt. 

More of the game is being played in the Airdrie half since their second but not with any meaningful intent. It's too slow and predictable at the moment. 

Lawless' corner is cleared and Airdrie try and break. 

Mitchell is rooted to the spot as Gallagher heads a cross from the right into the bottom corner of the net. Thistle's poor second half gets worse. 

Milne has to head a dangerous looking across away. 

Thistle are offering next to nothing as an attacking force at the moment. 

Mitchell saves O'Connor's shot but McGill is able to bundle the ball over the line when Thistle don't clear. 

Thistle look to be getting set to make a second change. 

Lyon and Milne exchange passes but Milne sees his shot blocked by a defender. 

Nearly almost immediate impact from Alston. He gets on the end of a Lawless pass and slides the ball past Rae. the ball goes wide and from a tight angle Fitzpatrick tries and fails to find the net. 

Thistle deal with the free kick but Airdrie remain on the attack. Thistle haven't got going since half-time. 

Williamson isn't able to continue. 

It's Airdrie that have seen most of the ball since the restart and they have a free kick midway inside the Thistle half after a foul from Bannigan. Before that free kick can be taken Williamson needs some treatment. 

Back underway. 

James Lyon's third goal of the season is enough to give Thistle a half-time lead. There has been more than a few scares in front of the Thistle goal though. 

Graham touches a Fitzpatrick cross into the net but the flag is quickly up for offside against the Thistle captain. 

So close for Thistle. Lawless' corner is cleared but he gets the ball back. This time his cross is met by the head of Graham as his header flicks the outside of the post as it goes just wide of goal. 

Into added time. There should be a few minutes of this following the injury to Airdrie's McCabe. 

Lawless clears the second of two quick corners. Thistle under a bit of pressure as half-time approaches. 

Nearly a chance for Williams from Lawless' corner but the ball glances off his head and away from goal. 

This game is threatening to boil over as tempers get a bit frayed. 

Quite a lengthy delay here as McCabe receives some treatment. It looks as if his afternoon is over. 

Williamson is caught late inside his own half as Thistle try and build an attack. There is no yellow card on this occasion. 

Thistle take the lead and it is a third for the season for James Lyon. He is in the right place to knock the ball home after Rae had pushed away a Milne cross. 

Its been a little better, at least in terms of retaining possession. Lawless finds McMillan to his right but McMillan's driven cross goes out for a goal kick. 

A long range effort from Taylor-Sinclair doesn't threaten Michell's goal but it remains very much the home side in control at the moment. 

Airdrie take a short corner and catch Thistle on the hop. A shot crashes off the underside of the bar but doesn't, at least as far as the match officials are concerned, cross the line. It looked mighty close from here. 

Williamson does well down the left but Rae is able to gather his low cross at the front post before Graham can get to it. 

Milne's shot from the edge of the box is diverted towards goal by the outstretched leg of Graham but Rae is able to get down and push the ball away from his goal. 

Another missed opportunity for the home side. As Thistle attempt to play the ball out from the back Lawless is robbed of the ball about 30 yards from goal. Gallagher advances but sends a low shot wide of target. 

Great chance for Airdrie. A cross comes over from the left that finds Gallagher at the back post but his shot, from 6 yards out, goes wide of Mitchell's right hand post. A let off for Thistle. 

After a delay and a lecture for Muirhead, Airdrie elect not to put the ball in the box and nearly catch Thistle sleeping with a quickly taken free kick until Williams clears. 

Airdrie win a free kick deep inside the Thistle half. They will get a chance to put the ball into the Thistle box. 

Thistle kick the game off and are quickly on the attack. 

There is just one change to Kris Doolan's starting eleven for this afternoon's visit to Airdrie. 

In comes James Lyon with Kerr McInroy missing out due to injury. 

New signings Kieran Ngwwenya and Wes McDonald start the afternoon on the bench.
