That Thistle score three away from home yet take nothing from the game tells its own story.
The corner is cleared.
Clarke sticks out a hand just as Robinson is about to tap home.
Clarke gathers a McBeth header. Time well and truly running out now.
Into added time.
Robinson's cross to the back post finds McMillan. He tries to pick out Adeloye but Clarke is able to collect.
Crowd: 2,227
It's Inverness all over again. Thistle fight back from two down to draw level before immediately conceding again.
It's a cross from Milne that finds the net. An Ayr defender has a swipe at the ball but it is unclear whether he gets a touch to it.
Into the final ten minutes. Can Thistle find an equaliser?
Lawless and Fitzpatrick again with a short corner. When the ball is crossed it goes all the way to the far side, Graham collects but his cross is poor and goes out for a goal kick.
Thistle grab a lifeline. Milne crosses to the back post and Adeloye is there to convert and bring Thistle back to within one.
The ball is begging to be put in but nobody gets a touch to Fitzpatrick's corner. The pressure on the Ayr goal is mounting all the time.
Fitzpatrick's powerful drive is tipped over the bar by Clarke.
With his back to goal Graham hooks the ball towards goal and he is a little unlucky to see the ball drop wide of target.
Fitzpatrick is fouled on the left touchline and looks to be in a bit of pain. He's back on his feet but not moving freely.
Fitzpatrick and Lawless work a short corner. Lawless takes the ball to the corner of the box. McBeth is able to get his head to Lawless' cross but if anything that takes the ball away from goal.
Adeloye gets on to the end of a ball into the box. He lifts it over Clarke but also over the bar.
Good goalkeeping from Clarke sees him get to Fitzpatrick's low cross ahead of Graham.
We've not seen anything in the second half to suggest a Thistle fightback.
Stewart denies Willoughby a hat-trick with a smart save.
McInroy curls the free kick towards the back post but nobody can get a touch to it.
McAllister hauls Fitzpatrick down who had got beyond the defender. Thistle free kick at the corner of the Ayr box.
The game is back underway, but the Thistle fans are clearly unhappy with something that has taken place in the away end. Would be best not to speculate further at the moment.
We have a break in play as it looks as if someone has taken unwell in the away end.
Ayr get the game back underway. No changes from either side at the break.
Thistle's defensive woes are on display again. Despite seeing the bulk of possession and playing some decent football, Thistle trail by three goals to one at the break.
It's far, far too easy. A long ball is headed on and Willoughby gets to it ahead of Stewart and lifts the ball into the net.
Poor again from Thistle at the back. Willoughby is in space to at the back post to knock the ball home.
After quite a long delay Murphy takes the free kick. It clears Stewart's crossbar but no by much.
Bannigan is penalised for a foul on Bryden. There's no yellow card, but it is an Ayr free kick in a threatening position. Bryden will need treatment before the free kick is taken.
Thistle work the corner to McInroy at the edge of the box. His shot is half blocked and spins into the path of Graham who marks his 150th Thistle appearance with his 18th goal of the season.
There's a chance for Graham at the back post but he can't hit the target with his header.
McBeth gets his head to the free kick and Bannigan completes the clearance, but Ayr remain in the attack,
Ayr free kick deep inside the Thistle half. Every Jag behind the ball.
Thistle pressing but they haven't created anything like a chance since falling behind. Some decent football but no cutting edge yet.
After a bright start Thistle fall behind. The ball is knocked into the path of McAllister inside the Thistle box and he has far too much space and he knocks the ball past Stewart and into the corner of the net.
Clarke claims a McMillan cross at his front post.
Murphy's corner is cleared and Thistle try and break through Lawless but he is is held up.
Ayr win a free kick wide on the right and will get a chance to test the Thistle defence.
McHugh is okay to continue as Ayr elect not to make an early substitution.
Looks as if Ayr are going to be forced into an early change.
Fitzpatrick's corner goes all the way to the back post where an off balance Milne hooks a shot over the bar. It's been all Thistle so far.
It's a great save from Clarke that denies Muirhead an early Thistle goal. Thistle have certainly started this game on the front foot.
Thistle kick the game off and will be shooting towards the away support in the first half.
Thistle are unchanged for this evening's fixture with Ayr United at Somerset Park.
Club Captain Brian Graham makes his 150th Partick Thistle appearance tonight looking to add to the 70 goals he has scored across the previous 149 games.
