Thistle are through to the last eight of the Scottish Cup but are made to fight all the way to the end by a spirited Elgin side who are close to an equaliser in injury time. 

Clarke makes a one handed save at his left hand post to keep Thistle in front.

Thistle back in front. Fitzpatrick lays the ball back to Stanway and his effort, with a deflection, finds the net.

We're level once more as Sargent finds the net with a back post header. 

Lets'osa snatches at a chance to extend the Thistle lead sending the ball over the bar 15 yards out. 

Watt at a stretch at the back post can't convert a Fitzpatrick cross.

Elgin have been a threat from set pieces but this one is poor and goes out for a goal kick. 

Elgin win a free kick midway inside the Thistle half. Meantime Watt is limping after a heavy challenge. 

Ritchie claims the Reading corner. 

Dingwall crashes in a shot from outside the box that is only just wide of Clarke's left hand post. 

Fitzpatrick is quickly onto the ball after Ritchie spills a Turner cross. He can't hit target though and the chance is lost. 

The ball drops to Watt at the back post but the referee spots a push as Reading's corner comes over and it is an Elgin free kick. 

Hester on the turn inside the Thistle box sends a shot over the bar. 

Thistle under some serious pressure both from the corner and in the play that follows. 

Chance at the back post for O'Reilly from the Turner corner. His effort is blocked. Thistle remain on the attack but can't find an opening for a third goal. 

It's been anything but a comfortable first half for Thistle but they do lead at the break. 

Robbie Crawford gave Thistle the lead only for Sargent to level. 

Thistle regained their lead 6 minutes later. Alex Samuel was fouled and Tony Watt tucked home the penalty that followed.

Watt makes no mistake from the spot and Thistle are back in front in quick fashion.

It's Turner with the corners from the left. The first produces a second corner which Elgin do well to clear. 

Thistle are unable to defend the MacIver corner. It bobbles about the 6 yard box before Sargent forces the ball home from close range. 

Watt cushions a header down to Stanway. He can't keep his shot down though and it clears the bar. 

The second of Reading's two corners is cleared. 

Reading's corner is cleared. Elgin try and break but are halted by a Samuel foul. 

Ritchie spills a Fitzpatrick shot with the loose ball hacked to safety. 

Stanway has a shot from distance that is only narrowly wide of goal. 

Dingwall speeds past the Thistle defence and finds Sargent to his left. Sargent's shot looks as if it might beat Clarke but he clings on to the ball. 

Crawford tucks the ball away after some neat play inside the box from Watt. An earlyish breakthrough after an awkward first 15 minutes. 

Watt lays the ball back to Crawford. There's no power in Crawford's shot though and Ritchie has an easy save to make. 

Turner takes the free kick which is cleared. 

Turner is caught late and Thistle have a free kick wide on the right. 

Ashcroft half clears the free kick. The ball is knocked back towards goal where Clarke collects.

Gallagher shoots well over the bar after the corner is cleared. 

Hester gets in behind the Thistle defence after a slip from Ashcroft. Clarke saves with his foot at his front post.

Thistle are on the Scottish Cup trail once more this afternoon with a trip to Elgin City for the first ever competitive meeting between the two sides with a place in the last eight up for grabs. 

Mark Wilson's team selection shows two changes from the side that started against St Johnstone last weekend. 

In come Aidan Fitzpatrick and Fraser Taylor, who makes his first Thistle start. 

Oisin Smyth is cup tied, as is Cale Loughrey, while Luke McBeth starts on the bench. Logan Chalmers misses out through suspension.
