Hamilton come into the league on a high having won SWPL2 last year at the first time of asking. The side from Lanarkshire are no strangers to the top flight having spent come up the same season as ourselves, spending just one season since back in SWPL2.
Over the summer they have made a number of strong signings including ex-jags Shona Cowan and Georgia Gray who join Freya MacDonald in their ranks as former Thistle players.

Thistle come into this one at the star of somewhat of a new beginning. David Elliot begins life as head coach with a new look squad but with the same aims and objectives.
A seventh place finish last term, but with a new league format meaning a top six and bottom four split means there is even more reason to look for that top six finish which eluded us last term.
This summer signing of Jo Love made the headlines but the additions of Addie Handley, Mya Bates, Erin Rennie, Kate Fraser, Keira Syjanen and SWPL champion Lia Tweedie add quality to the squad and are sure to excite the support ahead of the new season.

Head Coach David Elliot has an almost full strength squad to choose from. Just long term injuries Cara Henderson and Lucy Sinclair along with new signing Keira Syrjanen, who picked up a knock in the last closed door game, will be missing for this one as Thistle look to start a new era off brightly.

A last-gasp winner from debutant Erin Rennie sealed a 2-1 victory for Thistle at Hamilton Community Stadium.
Tough weather conditions, with high temperatures, saw the Jags endure a challenging first half, as they were tested by the newly promoted side, with both teams fiercely contesting possession in midfield.
As Thistle began to settle into the game, they created some fantastic passages of play along the channels. With the jags piling on the pressure, it seemed as though they were knocking on the door for that opener
Lia Tweedie fired over, before she struck the bar with a header as Thistle continued to push that that elusive opener.
It finally came just as the half came to a close, An Erin Rennie corner, kept alive by Demi Falconer, allowed debutant Jo Love to fire Thistle ahead just before halftime.
In the second half, a defensive error let Hamilton equalize, as Eryn Brown finished well past Jeni Currie.
The game remained tense, with both sides creating chances but unable to gain the upper hand. Thistle again striking the woodwork with a fierce Erin Rennie strike.
But it was debutant Erin Rennie who restored Thistle’s lead with almost the last kick of the ball. A brilliant pass from Addie Handley set up Rennie one-on-one with the goalkeeper, and her well-taken finish saw the Jags snatch victory.
Hamilton looked like they would snatch a late winner moments before but Jenna Ferguson made an excellent defensive block before Thistle broke up the other end to snatch all three points.
The victory saw the David Elliot era begin with all three points and gave supporters something to shout to start the season.
Match winner Erin Rennie further added to this by stating, “We are trying to build something here. We are trying to play a certain type of way. It is going to come.”
Rennie was unfortunate not to send Thistle into the lead prior to her match-winning moment, as her effort rattled the crossbar.
Touching on the 2nd goal and her thought process, the debutant commented, “Ello shouts at me all the time to pass it in, roll it in, relax in front of goal. So, I tried to think about that”.
The Jags are back in action next Friday against the champions, Hibernian.
