For the second Saturday in a row it's a goalless stalemate with Mullen missing a late chance for Thistle to collect all three points.
It's a result that suits neither side.
And Thistle do nearly snatch a winner. Mullen does well to prevent the ball going out for a goal kick, turns towards goal and then lashes the ball over the bar.
Jakubiak fouls Docherty and Thistle might have one last chance to test Dundee with the free kick.
Loud appeals for a Dundee penalty but play goes on.
Into additional time. There could be quite a bit of this.
Man of Match: Ross Docherty
Fitzpatrick picks up a knock at the edge of the Dundee box and we're going to have a break in play while he is treated.
Five minutes, plus injury time, to go. You wouldn't be surprised if there was a winner in this game but at what end.
Fitzpatrick can't get enough of a foot to Turner's ball to divert it towards the Dundee goal.
It's a really dangerous corner from Turner that Legzdins does well to grab hold off.
Turner slips the ball through for Dowds but he is off balance and his shot goes well wide of goal. There is little doubt that both teams are desperate for a winner.
McCowan takes the free kick but sends it high over the crossbar.
Holt has his arms round Jakubiak. We have that break in play but also a free kick just outside the Thistle box in a central position.
Dowds and Mullen waiting patiently for a break in play to come on.
There is some activity on the Thistle bench but we're going to wait for this Turner free kick before making further changes.
Thistle break through Fitzpatrick. He has options to either side of him but elects to use neither and is eventually crowded out.
Graham finds Fitzpatrick to his right but from the edge of the box the thistle sub drags his effort wide of goal.
Crowd: 3,656.
Thistle look in vain for a corner after a Hodson cross.
Mitchell gets enough of a hand to Hannant's corner to push the ball away from goal if not entirely to safety.
Jakubiak is very quickly involved in the action and he advances towards the Thistle goal only for Holt's timely intervention to halt his progress.
Turner goes wide to McMillan with the free kick when most were expecting the ball delivered into the box. Turner gets the ball back from McMillan but Legzdins collects the ball when it comes towards his goal.
Marshall comes through the back of Graham. It's a free kick but no yellow card. A shade too far out for a direct effort at goal but a threatening position all the same.
There's more power in a shot from Lawless but Legzdins again saves although this time he has to push the ball away from goal.
Tiffoney takes a pass from Bannigan, races into the box but there is no power in his shot and Legzdins saves.
It's Dundee that have started the second half the better.
Legzdins is there to collect Turner's corner. Thistle's first of the match.
We're goalless at the interval but it has been an entertaining game of football, albeit one of few clear cut chances.
Best for Thistle was a Tiffoney effort blocked by Legzdins.
Docherty is fouled ending a spell of late first half Dundee pressure.
Brownlie thumps the corner clear as we nudge towards half-time.
The corner is cleared but Dundee pick up the ball again.
There is more anger from the Thistle fans as the flag goes up for offside against Tiffoney as he collects a Turner pass.
Lawless' pass finds McMillan who cuts into the box. He is adjudged though to have fouled Hannant much to the anger of most people in red and yellow.
It's a poor free kick from Turner though and Thistle can't make anything of the opportunity.
McGhee's tug on Docherty who was away from the defender gives Thistle a free kick in a promising position.
Tiffoney powers into the box from the left. It's Graham that is ruled to have got the final touch to Tiffoney's cross although the Thistle striker is adamant that it should be a corner not a goal kick.
Ashcroft gets his head to the corner but it is an easy save for Mitchell.
Docherty takes charge in midfield. He has Graham to his right and Tiffoney to his left. He elects to find Tiffoney and he is denied by Legzdins who is swiftly off his line.
Ashcroft is kneeling on the pitch at the edge of the box frantically signalling that he has been caught by and elbow. Play will, finally, restart with aa drop ball in the middle of the pitch.
Williamson is late in on Docherty and collects a deserved yellow card.
Turner drills a low free kick in that is headed clear.
Hannant handles the ball and Thistle will have a free kick on the right near the edge of the Dundee box in line with the 6 yard box.
Sweeney does really well to get to a low Turner cross just ahead of Graham who was lurking right in front of the Dundee goal.
Dundee break quickly as have players over on the left. The ball comes to Hannant and he may feel he should have done better even though he does bring out a save from Mitchell.
Hodson gets the ball in a good position on the left but the cross is poor and is cleared.
First serious attack from Thistle. Docherty's delightful pass finds McMillan down the right. He lifts a cross towards Graham at the back post. He knocks the ball back to Tiffoney and although Tiffoney takes a wild swipe at the ball and misses that move itself was promising if not the final execution.
Thistle again cope with the corner although Dundee, who have had the edge in possession in the opening minutes, remain on the attack.
It was a really cheap corner that Thistle conceded and often you find these punished but not on this occasion as Thistle deal with McMullan's corner with ease.
The shape of the Thistle team remains unchanged with just a change in personnel. Lee Hodson is occupying the left back role vacated by Harry Milne for the afternoon.
Dundee kick this game off. Thistle will be shooting towards the John Lambie Stand in the first half.
Injury and illness denies Kris Doolan the services of three players for this afternoon's fixture with Dundee.
Illness keeps Harry Milne on the sidelines while injury rules out Aaron Muirhead and Connor McAvoy. The latter's season now over and has returned to his parent club Fulham.
In place of that trio come Kevin Holt and Darren Brownlie, both of whom played large parts of last week's encounter with Dundee, and Lee Hodson.
It won't be until we get underway that we'll get confirmation on the precise shape of the team.
The rain is starting to fall quite heavily but the Firhill pitch is looking in good condition ahead of a game that is vital to the promotion aspirations of both sides.
