An afternoon to forget.
Into additional times of which, please let there be not much of.
Holt knocks the penalty past a dispirited looking Sneddon.
Ngwenya's foul gives United a penalty.
McDonald's corner is headed clear at the front post.
Thistle again fail to defend a corner although whether Holt knows much about it as the ball hits off him and goes in as open to debate.
Thistle will finish the game with ten men as Muirhead's second yellow sees him sent off.
Adeloye's shot rolls through to Walton.
It's a good corner from McDonald but well defended at the front post.
Docherty rattles the Thistle crossbar as Thistle look in some disarray. .
Crowd: 5,120
And that will be game over. A cross from the right is headed down to McMann who fi ds the net with a crisp finish. Two goals in two minutes have undone Thistle who were pressing for an equaliser.
You'll not see many better strikes than that one. Holt unleashes a thunderbolt from fully 25 yards out that is heading for only one place. The back of the Thistle net.
With Thistle seeing more of the ball in the United half they looked exposed on the counter. Watt finds Moult who should do better than hit a tame effort straight at Sneddon.
Moult's elbow on Neilson earns him a yellow card. He might have been a bit lucky with that one.
Thistle again elect not to go direct into the box and McDonald picks up the ball wide. There are a couple of blocked efforts as Thistle try to make something of his cross but Walton is untroubled.
Graham is hauled to the ground winning Thistle a free kick in from the left touchline.
McDonald clips a cross into the box but it is too far from Graham and too close to the keeper.
McDonald shoots from the edge of the box but can only drag his effort wide of goal.
Not really. Thistle elect to go wide with the free kick rather than direct to the box. The ball is worked back inside to McInroy whose drive is blocked.
Ngwenya has his heels clipped wining Thistle a free kick inside the United half. Thistle's set pieces were poor in the first half. Will there by any improvement?
We're back underway. No further changes from Thistle.
Milne is inches away with a shot after McDonald touches the ball back to him.
Into first half additional time.
An off balance Watt manages to hook the ball towards the Thistle goal. It clips the top of the bar on its' way over.
Lawless gets two attempts at the free kick but fails to threaten the United defence with either.
Thistle can't make anything of he free kick but win another when Milne is fouled on the opposite flank.
Robinson is pushed and Thistle win a free kick deep inside the United half. Docherty is booked for his reaction.
McInroy shoots from distance. It's well enough struck but always off target and Walton isn't required to save.
A low Bannigan shot is blocked. It's been better from Thistle but you don't get the sense that they are in control at all and United look the more likely to be the next scorers.
Fotheringham drills a shot low and across Sneddon's goal and only narrowly wide.
Lawless back involved and he creates space inside the box and it takes two attemps for Walton to cling onto his low drive.
Lawless' free kick is headed clear.
Robinson is fouled and Thistle will have a chance to get the ball into the United box. Lawless over the ball.
Blow for Thistle as Fitzpatrick has to come off injured.
That's a little more promising but Holt heads clear Fitzpatrick's cross from the left.
There hasn't been any positive response from Thistle to the loss of the goal. United dominating midfield and in charge.
Middleton delivers an excellent cross across the face of goal that is just begging for a touch but Milne is able to get the ball to safety.
This time the corner is dealt with.
It's only a temporary reprieve for Thistle. It's terrible marking at the corner with the ball finding Sibbald in acres of space. Despite Graham's best attempts on the line to clear, Sibbald's shot finds the net.
It takes an excellent one handed save from Sneddon to deny Middleton what looked a certain goal.
First real sign of Thistle as an attacking force although on this occasion Lawless' shot is sliced well wide of goal
First effort at goal comes from United's Fotheringham but it is a comfortable save for Sneddon.
It's been a tetchy start to the game. Neither side have managed to get near the opposition goal.
Thistle kick-off and are shooting towards The John Lambie Stand in the first half.
After a week off it is a welcome return to action with a visit to the Wyre Stadium at Firhill of league leaders Dundee United.
There is a familiar look to the Thistle starting eleven as manager Kris Doolan goes with the same side for the third game in a row.
