A frustrating first half is followed by a really poor second half.
Stephenson's goal after 53 minutes, for a long time the only effort on target, is enough to win the game for Hamilton.
Thistle twice came close to an equaliser in injury time but in truth they rarely, is ever, looked like rescuing a point once they fell behind.
Mullen's cross goes out for a goal kick. And that will be that you suspect.
Muirhead's header is on target but Fulton saves.
Muirhead's header is cleared off the line.
Into whatever additional time the referee decides to play.
Less than 5 minutes to go. Thistle really not looking like earning even a single point. It's been poor stuff since the restart.
Docherty is fouled in the middle of the park and Thistle have a free kick.
Thistle once more fail to make anything of a set piece situation.
MacKenzie who has done well since coming on is unlucky to see his shot deflected over the crossbar for a Thistle corner kick.
Fitzpatrick cuts inside to the edge of the box but watches his shot sail high over the Hamilton crossbar. Thistle haven't managed a shot on target with just 13 minutes remaining.
It's a lovely pass inside from Fitzpatrick to Milne but Milne's touch lets him down and a promising attack breaks down.
MacKenzie initially does well down the right but his cross is a poor one as Thistle continue to struggle. It's far too comfortable for Hamilton at the back.
MacKenzie is quickly involved in the action. He finds Mullen. Mullen holds the ball up for Turner who snatches at his opportunity and the ball rolls wide of goal. It's the nearest Thistle have come to a goal in a poor second half showing.
An injured McMillan's afternoon is over.
Crowd: 2,855
That really should be 2-0. When Thistle fail to threaten again from a set piece Hamilton break. The ball is worked to Martin and it takes an excellent save from Sneddon to keep a struggling Thistle in this game.
Fitzpatrick's shot is deflected earning Thistle a corner.
Tiehi passes to Stephenson to his right and Stephenson's shot from the corner of the Thistle box doesn't clear Sneddon's bar by much.
Turner gets away from Sparrow but his cross is overhit and goes out for a goal kick.
Stephenson reads Tiehi's flick and gets in behind the Thistle defence and confidently shoots past Sneddon.
Turner tries t find Holt with the free kick but it easily dealt with by the Hamilton defence.
Turner wins Thistle a free kick deep inside the Hamilton half.
Holt nearly slices a Stephenson cross into his own net but the ball flies straight to Sneddon.
Turner's corner nearly drops for Mullen in front of goal.
The half-time whistle sounds on a one-sided first half. One sided but without Thistle creating much in the way of clear cut chances. The game has almost exclusively been played inside the Hamilton half with the away side showing next to no ambition to come forward are content to sit in and frustrate Thistle. They have been successful in doing so, so far.
Into additional time at the end of the first half.
Owens looks to have a hold of Mullen's shirt as he tries to get on the end of McMillan's pass but there is no free kick.
Milne tries to get on the end of Turner's corner but ends up in a heap inside the box looking in vain for a penalty.
There are shouts, mainly from the crowd to be fair, for a Thistle penalty for handball when Fitzpatrick's cross hits O'Reilly.
McMillan's chipped cross finds the head of Mullen, but he can't direct his header on target and the ball slips wide of the Hamilton goal.
Mullen finds Turner inside the box. Turner tries to return the ball to Mullen in front of goal but Fulton intercepts.
Bannigan and Turner stand over the free kick. Bannigan leaves it to Turner but his delivery is poor and the ball is cleared.
Thistle win a free kick wide on the left hand side.
Just a few rumblings of frustration from the home crowd as a Docherty cross drifts out of play.
This game is being played almost exclusively in the Hamilton half. Thistle are playing good football, making use of the full width of the pitch but they haven't, as yet, forced Fulton into too much direct action.
Patient build up from Thistle finishes with Turner trying to flick a Docherty cross towards goal. Milnes tries to keep things alive at the back post but Fulton steps in to claim the ball.
Fitzpatrick leaves Shiels for dead before delivering a low cross that Hamilton, not for the first time, do well to clear.
McMillan lifts a superb ball into the Accies 6 yard box that Owens does well to clear.
Thistle are able to defend Sparrow's corner without too much difficulty.
Fulton is off his line to claim Turner's corner.
It's a cracking low cross in Milne that O'Reilly scrambles clear from the 6 yard box. Positive start from Thistle.
Fitzpatrick twists his head to connect with a Mullen cross but the ball flies well wide of the Hamilton goal.
Turner and Milne link up well down the left but Milne can't get his cross beyod the clutches of Fulton.
And Thistle threaten the Hamilton goal early as Fitzpatrick tries to wriggle his way towards goal, but Fulton is off his line to claim the ball.
It's Thistle that get the game underway and are shooting towards the John Lambie Stand in the first half.
With Brownlie, Tiffoney, Graham, Dowds, Lawless and Smith all missing through injury and McKinnon an absentee through injury Ian McCall's starting eleven virtually picks itself for this afternoon's encounter with Hamilton Accies.
There are no fewer than 9 Thistle Weir Youth Academy trained players listed on the Thistle teamsheet this afternoon.
