Absolutely outstanding from Partick Thistle to round off 2022. 

In truth the winning margin could easily have been far in excess of 5-1. 

Man of the Match: Aidan Fitzpatrick

Holt's header from Turner's corner is headed off the line. It's a miracle that it is 'just' 5-1 for Thistle. Two or three more would not flatter the home side. 

It's sloppy play from McKinnon initially but he tracks back to make up for his own error. 

McKinnon is penalised for a foul and Inverness have a free kick wide on the left.

It's not getting any better for Inverness. Mullen gets away from Duffy who pulls him back and out comes the red card. 

And in next to time the four goal advantage his restored. The ball comes in from the left, Graham helps it on for Mullen and he fires home. It's been outstanding stuff from Thistle tonight. 

Inverness pull a goal back. The ball breaks for Doran in front of the Thistle goal and he slams the ball into the back of the net. 

Turner elects to go directly for goal with the free kick and gets it all wrong. Forgivable when 4-0 up and the kind of form he is in. 

There is fear in the Inverness defenders eyes every time Fitzpatrick has the ball at his feet and runs at them. This time his run is halted illegally and Thistle have a free kick. 

Mullen back heels the ball to Turner who in turn finds McKinnon who drags a shot wide of goal. 

Muirhead makes a near post to dash to meet Turner's low corner and his shot is cleared off the line. 

And Holt is nearly on the score sheet. Fitzpatrick breezes past Hyde and Holt's header flies into the arms of Mackay. 

Tremendous ovation as Kevin Holt makes his return from injury. 

Fitzpatrick rolls a great pass to Milne. He has Graham to his right but his pass is too close to Mackay who gathers. 

But a fourth Thistle goal is only delayed by a matter of seconds. That corner finds the head of Muirhead and he powers a header into the back of the net. 

Nearly a fourth as Graham robs Ram of the ball. He is some distance from goal though and eventually has to settle for a corner. 

Doran's corner has Thistle under a bit of pressure. He gets the ball back and Thistle are still on the back foot until Graham steps in to knock the ball out for a throw. 

Bannigan's cross, after exchanging passes with Lawless, finds Graham who touches the ball back to McKinnon who knocks the ball home. 

MaKay's shot is blocked by Muirhead. 

Lawless is bundled over and Thistle have a free kick deep inside the Inverness half. It's flighted into the box looking for Graham. He does get his head to it but there is no power in his header and Mackay saves with ease. 

It's a great touch from Graham to get the ball through to Fitzpatrick but his touch is heavy and the opportunity is lost. 

Sneddon makes a confident catch to claim a cross from the left in the first action of the second half. 

The referee's whistle sounds bang on the 45 minute mark bringing an excellent first half Thistle performance to a close. 

Brian Graham fired Thistle ahead with a close range shot following a Fitzpatrick cross from the left after 15 minutes and although a different combination of players, Milne with the cross and Kyle Turner the finish, it was a similar goal that doubled the Thistle lead after 38 minutes. 

In truth the Thistle half-time advantage could even be greater than two such has been their dominance. 

Lawless is able to get a cross over from the right but Milne's header drops well wide of goal. 

Graham's flick finds Fitzpatrick to his left but the flag goes up for offside. 

Turner is loving playing at Firhill at the moment and he has another telling contribution to make. He's there in front of goal inside the 6 yard box to turn Milne's cross into Thistle's second goal. No less than The Jags deserve. 

A Lawless cross is nearly sliced into his own net by an Inverness defender but Mackay is able to push the ball away to safety. 

The referee spots a push as Boyd's corner comes over and Thistle have a free kick. 

Graham is proving, as always, to be a major handful for the opposing defenders and he has a shot on the turn at the edge of the box that isn't too far wide of Mackay's left hand post. 

It's good play again from MacKay. He pushes the ball inside to Mckay who has Inverness' first shot on goal but it is a comfortable save for Sneddon. 

It's a good corner from Turner looking for the head of Milne but Welsh gets to it first and heads clear. 

MacKay does well to get the ball over from the left for Inverness but Brownlie is there to head clear. 

A Fitzpatrick cross is cleared to McMillan outside the box. His low drive is always heading wide but Graham sliding in is inches away from connecting with it. 

It's a great ball over the top from Lawless for McMillan. He has to wait for support but when it arrives his cross is just too high for Fitzpatrick. Milne picks up the loose ball and he can't find a Thistle player with his cross. Thistle looking for a second goal. 

It's not defended this time, it's almost impossible to do so. Fitzpatrick again with the cross from the left, a low driven cross this time, and Graham is there at the back post to fire the ball home. A deserved lead for Thistle. 

Clever footwork from Graham gives him the space to find Fitzpatrick to his left. Fitzpatrick lifts a cross into a good area but it is well defended. 

A great flick from Graham finds Turner at the edge of the box but a challenge swiftly comes in and Turner isn't able to get a shot at goal. 

Brownlie has to hurry to clear after a stray pass from McKinnon nearly had Thistle in some trouble. 

It's great work down the right from McKinnon that nearly creates an opening for Thistle inside the box but Inverness are able to scramble the ball clear. Positive opening from The Jags. 

Turner's corner is flicked on and Graham is there at the back post but the angle is tight and he can only find the side netting. 

A burst of speed from Fitzpatrick gets him in position to cross and that cross is cleared for the game's first corner. 

Thistle get the game underway and are shooting towards the John Lambie Stand in the first half. 

It's the final game of 2022 with our Thistle namesakes from Inverness making the trip to Firhill.
