Thistle safely make it through to the next round with a comfortable win over Kelty Hearts. 

With a red card for Ross Docherty and an injury to Anton Dowds that win doesn't come without cost, however. 

Into second half injury time. 

Man of the Match: Kyle Turner. 

Turner forces his way into the Kelty box where he is denied by a save from Campbell. 

That should be four. Campbell's miskick is picked up by Weston who sets up Smith for what should be an easy finish, but he doesn't get enough on the ball, and it is cleared. 

That should seal a place in the next round. Smith pushes a pass through to Weston to his right and Weston nets his first Partick Thistle goal with a crisp low finish. 

It's a bit slack and careless again from Thistle but Sneddon collects a Higginbotham cross at his front post. 

Brownlie gets away with an under hit back pass. Thistle can't afford to be careless. 

From fully 35 yards out Low nearly scores a fantastic goal from that free kick but the ball comes off the bar with Austin unable to head home the rebound. 

Thistle manage to make a change before the free kick. 

Thistle are down to 9 for now and defending a free kick.

Dowds looks to have picked up an injury in that last passage of play and he is receiving a spot of treatment. 

It's great work down the right for Smith. He crosses for Dowds who touches the ball back to Lyon who sees his shot smack off the base of the post. 

It's a good touch from Barjonas that gives him a chance for a shot but an even better block from Brownlie that denies him any opportunity of a goal. 

It's a cracking finish from substitute Anton Dowds that double the Thistle lead. He's sharp onto a through ball and his powerful drive leaves Campbell with no chance. Thistle have the comfort of a two goal lead. 

Barjonas drags a shot wide of the Thistle goal. 

McKinnon limps off

Brownlie fouls Peggie near the corner flag and Kelty will have a chance to get the ball into the Thistle box. 

Safe pair of hands from Sneddon as he claims Tidser's corner at his back post. 

Thistle appeal for a third corner in quick succession but this time play restarts with a goal kick. Much as they did in the first half, Thiste have started the second well. 

Milne puts the ball throw Martin's legs but finds his route to goal blocked by O'Ware. 

Dowds involved again but can't get enough on the ball following Turner's corner. 

Dowds nearly scores with his first touch, but Campbell gets a hand to his shot. 

This game was drifting along with little to talk about until the 37th minute when referee Napier decided to flash a red card firstly in the direction of Kelty's Cardle and then, after a delay, in the direction of the Thistle captain Ross Docherty. At first viewing it seemed an incredibly harsh call on both counts. 

Until the cards came out, Thistle were in control and led through Brian Graham's 6th minute goal. 

There was frustration though that they were unable to build upon that early goal and while very much on top there had been moments where Kelty had threatened. 

How the game will develop now it is a ten aside affair is anyone's guess at this stage. 

Into first half stoppage time. 

O'Ware and Graham square up to each other. This will need sorting out. 

Cardle and Docherty are both shown red cards. That seems unbelievably harsh on both counts and boos ring out from the home fans. 

Tempers rise after a tussle between Docherty and Cardle. 

McKinnon finds Lawless to his right, but his cross is just a shade too high for a lurking Graham. 

Graham is nearly in for a second but Campbell is out his goal and gets to the ball before him. 

It's a poor pass from Brownlie and suddenly it is three against three as Kelty come forward. Cardle's pass though is poor and Thistle clear. 

Turner and Milne link well down the left flank but the latter's cross is cleared. 

A clever chipped pass from Graham nearly finds Milne at the back post but Kelty clear. 

Kelty have been seeing more of the ball and they have a chance of an equaliser. Agyeman is able to use his pace to collect a pass and get in behind the Thistle defence, but he shoots straight at Sneddon who made himself a difficult target to neat. 

Lawless takes the free kick himself but in looking for Brownlie at the back post he gets far too much height on the ball, and it goes out for a goal kick. 

It's excellent play from Graham that gets the ball wide to Lawless on the right. He is fouled and Thistle have a free kick in a threatening position. 

First hint of a chance for Kelty as they work the ball wide to right. The cross in is eventually cleared although Thistle don't look entirely convincing in doing so. 

The referee allows advantage after a foul on Milne when Turner picks the ball up wide on the left. His cross though us cleared. 

And that corner produces the opening goal. It's not perhaps the greatest of corners from Turner but Graham is able to get a flick to the ball that takes it away from Campbell and into the Kelty goal. 

Patient build up from Thistle nearly creates an opening for McKinnon but Thistle have to settle for a corner 

Turner takes the corner where it finds Brownlie at the back post. His header though is cleared. Thistle continuing to make a positive start to the game. 

There has been a pleasing tempo to Thistle's play in the opening minutes. 

Turner looks to be occupying the role on the left hand side of the Thistle midfield. 

Kelty get the game underway. Thistle are shooting towards the John Lambie Stand in the first half. 

The Road to Hampden starts today with a Scottish Cup tie, the very first competitive fixture between the teams, with League One Kelty Hearts. 

Thistle got back to winning ways in the league last Saturday and Ian McCall has made two changes to his starting eleven as he aims to build upon that success. 

In come Stuart Bannigan, a half-time sub last weekend, and Ross Docherty who make a more than welcome return from injury. 

Lee Hodson and Aidan Fitzpatrick are the players that drop to the bench for this one. 

There are more than a few familiar faces in the Kelty side who list ex Jags Tam O'Ware, Joe Ca4rdle, Jamie Barjonas and Kallum Higginbotham in their starting eleven.
